This yeast is more for red wines than mead, but its cheap and makes good mead. It has about a 13% alcohol tolerance and it makes full bodied, dry red and white wines.I pitched some of this in a batch of apelfwein and it was very active by the next morning. It sounded like an aquarium bubbler in my carboys.
It also formed little very little head, so you can fill carboys almost full.
