I had my eye on this cheese for a while because I love cheese and sticky toffee pudding but couldn't justify paying for the steep shipping costs ... Until Xmas. Then when it arrived, I was afraid to open it because I was afraid I wouldn't like it BUT as it turns out, I love it! It's a hard cheese with chunks of dates and brown sugar so if you like sweet-n-salty, this is perfect. I also put it next to a plate of smoked meats, nuts and fruit which all went well together. Wines? Dessert wine for sure but I think it could go well with a light, fruity red. I don't always follow the "rules" when it comes to wine pairings, though. This cheese will always be on my list, though it's an interesting and tasty cheese!I first purchased this cheese at a local specialty grocery store and what a nice surprise.
I like cheese but I love this cheese. The somewhat sweet with the slight tart of the cheese is simply a cheese I will remember and buy when I can, try it and see.
