I was disappointed when I recieved this set, which was to be a gift for a friend. The packaging looked so much nicer online. In fact, the basket is cardboard and the products are very cheap. The sisal body sponge was torn and frayed! The product description is very misleading and I would be embarrassed to give this as a gift! I tried to return it, but it was not returnable! The product is cheap, not worth the money, and the whole experience was very frustrating.

My wife really liked this gift basket, much to my surprise. I have given her so many of these, that I expected another ho-hum response.

She especially mentioned the beautiful basket, which she put in the corner of the bathroom vanity.

This was a Christmas gift from my very well meaning and thoughtful daughter-in-law and son. I understand it is not returnable, so I will find it ANOTHER more appreciative home. To be able to post his review I am forced to give this item at least one undeserved star. This doesn't even smell like lavender! I grow several types of lavender, so I know what it smells like. The contents are cheap, generic, and not worth the hard earned $40 they spent. Don't waste your money on it.

Appreciation gift??? My brother has very good taste and I was surprised to have received this for Christmas and shocked at the price. He clearly thought what was advertised in the picture was what I would get. Basket???? No cute basket as a permanent or useful keepsake for me. I got a decorative, flimsy cardboard box. The skimpy sponges and bath glove could have come from the Dollar Store and the "spa" products are small, plastic bottles of cheap no-name lotions and bath gels with exotic names to make up for their lack of quality. The box was filled with basket shredding and a chintzy bag of artifically colored wood shavings passing for potpourrie centered to make the gift look more sumptious. The entire item was encased in clear cellophane with the artificial flowers squashed flat and tucked so far down as not to add any garnishment to this plain presentation. I did not have to open it to see my brother paid a department store price for something that looked like it was from Wal-Mart. Spa??? The term spa, which usually suggests something luxurious and pampering, was mis-appropriated for this gift basket. I am so disappointed and will be upset if I can't send this back as it was not as represented and not worth the price.

This is my 12th kit of Cornucopia Fruit Wine.I make it to 6 gal. and add 4 lbs of simple syrup, (just heat water and add sugar)at the beginning fermentation. This will make the wines abv about 12% instead of the 6% that it makes without the sugar.Each pound of sugar raises the abv about 1%. Make sure to use quality water like bottled spring water,not tap or well water.The directions are easy to follow. I have started adding only half to three fourths of the sweetner flavor pack and its better to my taste.If you like a really sweetwine add it all.It also gets a little better after being in the bottle for a month or two.The Vino Italiano wines at amazon are very good too for a regular non fruit wine.Great value with corks and labels and hats.I also don't put labels on all the bottles unless i'm giving them away,too much work to clean them off next time,just use a little adhesive tag to label them.I highly recommend these wines,and its fun to experiment with different techniques that you read other people tried. I made this at an sg starting at 1.064 allowing for about an a 6%-8% abv at the end. I didnt add sweetener, but just made it to about 5 1/4 gal to start, ending w about a 5 gal carboy and a liter left over after 2 total rackings and final addition of the f-pack. The stuff fermented and crystal-cleared, in NO kidding, 8 days totalbox to bottle.... dunno what that was about, but talk about fast!!! I was shockedcoulda been the two Tbsp yeast nutrient after the first day? At any rate, this has a dessert wine sweetness but the coconut essence is complex, not cloying at all. Maybe it was the concentrated 5 vs 6 gal i did, but the heft and impression is just like ice wine. I love ice wine (and importantly, i love coconut), so for me this is a great thing. I brought some to my co-worker who told me he had expected to try 1/2 a glass and throw the rest away (nice confidence level!!), but that he drank the whole bottle by himself in that one sitting. He wanted more. My husband, who doesnt drink much, has been drinking a glass every night, and also asking for me to make more. This stuff is surprisingly good, and at the three week mark, is, in my husband's words, "exceptional." I figure he's actually mocking me in my attempts at homebrewing, but he is drinking it, after all! I'm pretty much patting myself on the back and thinking about the 13 bottles remaining, w repeated requests for more from friends and family, not being nearly enough. :) im going to try this company's other wines. Awesome.

Update: some people who only like dry, "serious" wines do not like this wine, and some have said that it can't even be considered wine. I say, enjoy life more! Hehbut it's pretty much love or hate. One big detractor told me he thought it tasted like suntan lotion smells. And this is...bad? I Love a Big inky deep cab just like the next gal, but that's apples and ...coconuts -think--easy drinking like a wine cocktail or Sangria. This wine is fab for mixing with fruits or seltzer, although i like it neat. :)

White Zinfandel (Vintner's Reserve)

If I could give this product a 10-star rating I certainly would. It was one of the first kits I made and I was completely impressed with the ease of the process and the resulting product. If you are looking for the typical "Blush" or rose colored White Zinfandel, this is not the one for you. It is a deeper red, closer to a regular Zinfandel. But if you want a wine that is exquisite, with a wonderful flavor, then do not hesitate. I have made two of these kits and will soon do a third as I am down to only 6 bottles. The first one was consumed very quickly as it was the only wine on the shelf, and it was very good. But the second kit has had a bit more time to mature and it is EXCELLENT.

The product description says to serve "well chilled" but I have found that the flavors come through much better if it is not too cold. We had it with Thanksgiving dinner last year and it was a wonderful complement to everything.

Do not hesitate to "attack" this kit with great enthusiasm. I think you will not be disappointed.

I'm really enjoying these salts. Each kind comes in a small bag that's resealable (at least until the glue dries out), though if you don't close them just right you won't be able to close the lid again. A word of warning: these salts are STRONG. Use sparingly!

I like trying gourmet salts and this seemed a very reasonable price for 2 oz each of 4 salts, although one of them was regular "Pacific" sea salt so you only get to try 3 new ones. Save the Hawaiian coral salt for dishes where the color will show up, the flavor isn't noticeably different from regular salt. I love the subtle flavor nuances of grey salt, and this "Brittany Gray" is a nice one. Suitable for light-flavored dishes like eggs and many vegetables, but would be wasted in strong-flavored dishes. I have fallen in love with smoked salts, and the lovely aroma of this "Alder Smoked" salt permeated the other salts and my whole kitchen. The salts are packaged in little plastic bags that are somewhat resealable, but the seal loses its stickiness quickly so you will probably want to put the leftover salt in a different container. This would be a nice, inexpensive hostess or party gift to someone who enjoys cooking. If the 4th salt had been another flavored salt rather than plain sea salt, I would happily have awarded this 5 stars.

Purchased these for my Foody brother-in-law. He has been experimenting with them and thinks they are great. The salts do have distinct flavors. We also purchased the Clay Company 4 peppers, also excellent. If we did it again we'd probably look for grinders as it is inconvenient to switch out the peppers or salts when you want to use a particular one or want to mix a few of the peppers or a few of the salts.

Only problem was the delivery time, took exactly 1 week to get it even tho it was still packed in a styrofoam container with packets of dry ice which was still cold & frozen, so great job on doing that for it was still cold after 1 week in transit. The product was as expected but come to find out afterwards that one of my local grocery stores here sells it fresh at the deli, sliced to order and at $6.95 a lb. If they didn't sell it then yes, I would order again from this company.

I just added half the small bag ( finishing bag )in at the start with the large bag at the first fermentation and only filled to 5 gallons not 6 gallons. This gave the wine a little more kick and not so sweet... it really makes the wine a lot better. Lets put it this way my Peach is gone and my wife's Strawberry is still here and she drank most of my wine. try it!!!!!

Wine came with all the packets to get started as well as the sleeves and corks to complete the bottling. Would highly recommend this wine to all winemakers.

Cugino's Gourmet Foods, Ridiculously Delicious Soups, 8 Cup Baked Burgundy French Onion Soup, 3.8-O

Okay, so you have to add your own onion and bread.....adding these fresh is a good thing. This is meant to be a starter mix of seasonings, not an add water and eat soup. The flavoring of this mix is excellent! I tried this out on friends and added homemade italian bread and sharp white cheddar cheese and we decided it was the best french onion soup ever! I have tried onion soups from MANY restaurants in search of the perfect french onion soup and have found ones equal, but none better than this combination. A friend who also tried this mix has worked at several high end restaurants and with our combination of bread and cheese, she said none of them can match the quality of our homemade soup! Yes, we could tinker with seasoning combinations to try to match Cugino's, but why bother when Cugino's has already put together the perfect blend.

Okay, the sodium content is high, but most good french onion soups are. And I would agree with the other reviewer to double the amount of onions added because one onion is just not enough.

The proper bread and cheese do make a big difference for french onion soups, so don't skimp on quality there and you should be very pleased with this mix.

This makes absolutely the best French Onion Soup I have ever had. Nuf' said. I use the box recipe with a couple of changes.

Matt's French Onion Soup

Serves: 2

Need two soup crock pots. Some will be left over and can be frozen in a vacuum bag for future usage.

1 box Cugino's Baked Burgundy French Onion Soup Mix

4 (1-ounce) slices of circular provolone cheese 2 should be slighly larger that the top of the crock pot's opening

4 slices bread

2 slices mozzarella cheese

1. Make the onion soup per the box direction except double the boil time to thicken the broth.

2. Meanwhile, place each bread slice on a cutting board.

3. Press and rotate the upside down open end of the crock onto the bread and rotate it to cut it into a circle the size of the crock pot opening.

4. Place one of the circular slices of bread into the bottom of each crock pot.

5. Place a slice of the smaller provolone cheese over the bread in each crock pot.

6. Place a slice of mozzarella cheese over the bread in each crock pot.

7. Ladle the soup mix while still very hot into each crock pot about 1/2 inch from the top.

8. Place the remaining slices of circular bread onto the top of each crock pot making sure the top is even with the top of the crock pot.

9. Place the remaining slices over the top of the crock pots.

10. Place the crock pots in the oven and broil until the top layer of provolone cheese is browned and toasty.

11. Serve immediately and enjoy after it's cool enough to eat! Yum yum! So tasty!

Great soup mix. The instructions are easy to follow. Like one other reviewer mentioned, it could use a bit more onion then what is suggested but that's easy to fix.

Outstanding Cheddar Cheese! I had it shipped to my APO AE address in Iraq, what a treat! It arrived in about 9 days, and even though it was a bit warm outside, the cheese it the Styrofoam container with cold packs was in great condition. It was a bit oily I guess and soft, but I placed the vacuum sealed 1-lb blocks in the fridge overnight, and they firmed up great. Started slicing and sharing with all. Great sharp flavor, buttery and a exactly what you'd expect from aged cheddar cheese. I've used it on sandwiches and with slices of turkey pepperoni! I have been enjoying OTC crackers for over 50 years beginning when my parents would take my brother and me to Wenger's Oyster House in Reading, PA, another institution from the Great Depression days. If I didn't have OTC's I wouldn't eat an oyster stew.

You have to know how to break them when putting them into your soup or stew. I see some complaints that they are too big, but these complainers are culturally illiterate! You must take two crackers in hand, and squeeze them together. One will break. Grind it smaller, then get another whole one, and repeat. I laughed at those who say OTC's are too big. What did you doput them in your soup whole? They'll float for a year and not get soggy. You must break them as it states on the box or bag. And don't try to break just one by hand. You are not strong enough.

OTC's are indeed an American institutionbeen around for since 1848, and they still look and taste the same. I pity you wretches who put those despicable weenie hexagon-shaped atrocities in your soup. Be a man! Bust OTC's in your stew!

Riesling (Vintner's Reserve)

For a moderately-priced wine kit, the Vintner's Reserve Riesling is one of the best around. A dry, white wine that pairs well with seafood and is also great as a sipping wine, Riesling has a light-medium body and a clean, refreshing taste.

Like all the Winexpert kits, the Riesling comes with easy to follow directions. The four-step process from mixing to bottling takes approximately six weeks altogether. Each step requires less than an hour of your time. The kit makes approximately 30 750ML bottles of excellent wine and is thus very cost-effective. (The per-bottle cost is about two dollars.) The wine will be ready to drink within a month of bottling, although it will continue to mature for up to a year.

Walters Homemade Honey Macadamia Nougat, 4-Ounce Packages (Pack of 4)

This nougat is very fresh, soft, tasty. It is sweet, but not too sweet. Has a wonderful texture. I sent some to my mother in law and she really enjoyed it. I'll definitely buy this again and recommend it to my friends.
