I saw this chocolate at my local Earth Fare, and I thought they were crazy for asking $8 for 8 ounces of chocolate. However, being a fan of both wine and chocolate, I finally caved in and bought a brick: I had to see what a chocolate formulated to complement wine would taste like.
Though I can't believe I'm going to say it, it was worth every dime.
I can't say I'm a connoisseur, and admittedly, I have a somewhat unsophisticated palate. I cannot tell what type of barrel a chardonnay was aged in, or how long, and I am not adept at determining the notes in types of wine. (Berry? Cherry? Maybe. Spice and chocolate I can generally tell.) However, I can say with confidence that the chocolate goes perfectly with every full-bodied red wine I've paired it with. Don't try it with white, however, unless you have a sweet tooth from hell.I was browsing chocolates and happened upon this and impulsively bought it. I should've checked Brix Chocolate's website first. They sell this exact same bar for $13!! $25 is a RIPOFF. DO NOT BUY AT THIS PRICE! See for yourself:
