Marukan Rice Vinegar 24 Oz.

Marukan Rice Vinegar 24 Oz.My friend recommended this vinegar as he uses it in his salads. I couldn't find it locally anywhere so I ordered it online. It tastes delicious and with some good olive oil makes a salad scrumptious!

Making peach chutney on the spur of the moment, I was out of my usual "plain old" cheapie vinegar. I substituted this Marukan rice wine vinegar and was delighted with the results. My chutney was deliciously mellow, while still tart enough to compliment the curries it accompanied. Henceforth I'll keep a bottle of this in the pantry!

Nothing special. I wont buy this again. I'm experimenting with exotic vinegars. This is pretty ordinary, like the plain white vinegar we used for easter egg dye

Smoked Salmon Gift Box with Salmon, Crackers, Pistachios, Shortbread and Chocolate Covered Cherries

Smoked Salmon Gift Box with Salmon, Crackers, Pistachios, Shortbread and Chocolate Covered CherriesI gave this product as a gift to some clients as a change from Dean and DeLuca...not a good idea..

My clients loved the gift box, the crackers etc. were very good...BUT, the smoked salmon was not high quality.

I would not suggest this item for the food, but the box is nice.

It arrived for xmas so thank you for that. BUT, I would not buy again, too high priced for what you get. Nice box, but way to expensive for what you get.

French Cassoulet Reflets De France-Cassoulet - 55,73 Oz

French Cassoulet Reflets De France-Cassoulet - 55,73 OzI am a cassoulet enthusiast and I find Reflet de la France produce one of the best products. I was impatiently waiting for delivery after making the order and paying for it when everything went wrong.

What went wrong; well it seems I live in the wrong place and even Amazon cannot do anything to help.

I live in Colombia (South America) and French products like cassoulet have a complicated delivery pattern; firstly a delivery from the French manufacturer to Amazon in the USA and then a 2nd delivery from Amazon USA to a specialised courier service in Florida for onwards delivery to Colombia. Needless to say all of this costs an arm and a log and you need to really want the product to undertake such an order.

The initial delivery from the French agent to Amazon USA went like Swiss clockwork; just 3 days, very hard to beat. The onwards delivery from Amazon USA to Florida courier service was similarly efficient. But then came the bad news. The Florida courier service informed us Colombia refuse entry to all canned goods and perishable items, so cassoulet fails on 2 counts. None of this is Amazon or Reflet de la France's fault, it is all about "need to know" information but I felt "pixxed off". Throwing good food into a garbage cart is not my idea of good fun.

French Cabernet Sauvignon (Selection International)

French Cabernet SauvignonOver the past six years I have made several batches of wine from the Selection International Series of wine kits from Winexpert. Each one has turned out well. I attribute this to the quality of the grape juice in the kit and the explicit and easy-to-understand directions that come with it. The entire process is straightforward and shouldn't take more than a few hours' time. I've discovered that with the exception of the bottling (which generally takes 45 minutes, primarily because the sanitizing of the bottles takes time) each of the other four steps (mixing, racking into the carboy, stabilizing, and secondary racking) take about half an hour each. So, with three hours' total effort (over a 6-8 week period) one will produce a great bottle of wine.

The French Cabernet, which I bottled about a year ago, is one of the best cabernets I have ever tasted. It is smooth and full-bodied with a great bouquet and excellent clarity. It holds its own against the highest quality cabernets on the market. And the best part is that by making it from a wine kit, it's fairly reasonable. One can expect to get approximately 30 750ML bottles. At a cost of less than $120 for the kit, that comes out to under four dollars a bottle. It's a great bargain.

Nejaime's Lavasch Sesame, Deli Style 5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Nejaime's Lavasch Sesame, Deli Style 5-Ounce BoxesI love this product and have been using it for years. My only problem is that these flat bread crackers seem to get delivered in pieces, rather than whole crackers, making them unusable for entertaining.
