Mushroom Pate with Marsala Wine (78g)

Mushroom Pate with Marsala WineAnother seller that does not list ingredients. What's worse, they are not listed even on Giovanni's own website. Here they are: lobster, pollock, palm oil, milk, pollock broth, flour, soybean oil, carrots, celery, dehydrated onions, salt, cognac, spices, parsley and other ingredients. As you can see, the product is not gluten-free and contains also milk and soy, in case you need to know.

Once I got over the feeling that I was opening and serving myself a jar of cat food, I was quite pleased by the taste and texture of this pate. It has a surprisingly subtle mix of flavors and strikes the right balance between the earthiness of the mushrooms, a smoky marsala wine, and the rich butteriness of a pate. I really enjoy the pate with Carr's Poppy And Sesame Crackers.

If you're going to serve this to guests, I'd recommend carefully spreading this on crackers or stirring it up in a serving dish ahead of time to avoid any can-shaped chunks from turning people off.

Rowntrees Fruit Gums Carton 125g

Rowntrees Fruit Gums Carton 125gMost everyone in Britain knows this candy. I myself grew up eating 'em. The only warning would be that they are highly addictive. They are quite hard, requiring some chewing and do have a habit of sticking to your teeth.

Otherwise; I'd highly recommend them!

If you've ever enjoyed these fruity candies in the past, be prepared for a major change in the size. They are too small to truly appreciate the flavor.

After years of missing one of my favorite "sweets" from my childhood, I was excited to find I could order Fruit Gums on Amazon. My excitement quickly disappeared, however, when I ate the first one. It had a crusty outer layer that said they were stale. The entire package was that way, and I was left very disappointed.

Vino Italiano 4 Week Wine Kit, Zinfandel Blush, 15.5-Pound Box

Vino Italiano 4 Week Wine Kit, Zinfandel Blush, 15.5-Pound BoxI am not a zin drinker but this kit is just fine for the price. Good instructions, easy, and easy to work with. I would cut it to 5 gallons, or use a top off of something sweet, and a wine conditioner, which I did. What I have now at bottle time is a nice, light little wine to chill off and enjoy. I am sure the age in the bottle will make it better. I did let mine age about 2 weeks longer before bottle, and the taste was quite different, age is the key. Nice little wine for the back yard zin folk, and a good pair with white cheese and crackers. I will keep this stock on hand for the informal little do. And they like it!

This was my first Vino Italiano kit. I'm quite pleased with the results! The feedback from my friends has all been quite positive, and I think it tastes just dandy for a blush.

The kit was easy to make. Depending on the temperature of your workspace, it takes roughly 4 weeks, though I personally think it was much better after aging a bit. Drinkable right after bottling, but better if you wait a couple months.

Simple to make, came with the corks, labels and capsules. Mixed up well, fermented properly, and clarified beautifully. Can't ask for more than that for a buck and a half a bottle.

This is my 3rd wine kit. I first made a Moscato, second a Strawberry White Merlot and then this one. All of the wines have been easy to make and have all turned out very tasty. I like sweet wine, so all three of the ones that I have made are sweet. If you like sweet wine, this wine is for you.

This was my very first wine making kit after receiving wine making equipment as a Christmas gift from my son-in-law. I am a far cry from anything resembling a "wine expert" but do like a white zinfandel. Again, since I am no expert I don't pay a lot of money for the commercial wines I do purchase. That being said I figured I couldn't go too far wrong by purchasing this kit and making a wine I like for about 1.50 a bottle.

When the kit arrived I followed the instructions verbatim. After 28 days I drew a sample for tasting and was most pleasantly surprised. I, quite frankly, could not tell the difference in this and the commercial wine I normally purchase. To test it further I put a sample of "my" wine in a glass and poured a sample of commercial wine in another for taste testing by my wife and a friend of ours. Both my wife and friend favored my wine over the commercial.

I'd highly recommend this kit for anyone wishing to have a very nice/tasty zinfandel; I'll be purchasing another kit in the not too distant future.

I have made several batches of White Zinfandel from another brand/company at a much higher price, That co. was out so when looking for another distributor I found Vino Italiano, after making the wine and first taste it was not as sweet as the other which I liked great aroma not to dry.My second taste a week later,a much better taste smoother . I think for the money its great for an every day wine to share with friends

Green Mountain Coffee Nantucket Blend K-Cup (24 count)

Green Mountain Coffee Nantucket Blend K-Cup"Nantucket Blend coffee is one of my favorites. I was suprised that it was a single box. every time I ordered before it was a 2 pack. My fault for not reading closer. I will not order any more at this price for 1 (24 count)

Green Mountain "Nantucket Blend" K-Cups make a very good cup of coffee in my Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System. This is a very smooth tasting brew that my wife prefers over the Coffee People, Donut Shop K-Cups for Keurig Brewers (Pack of 50) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] I generally drink in the morning.

These are good on both "Small" and "Large" cup settings as well.

Highly Recommended!

Wine.com Happy Birthday Tower

Wine.com Happy Birthday TowerCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was surprised by the quality, quantity & variety of the snacks and treats DELIGHTFULLY surprised!! This would make the perfect gift for a family of 3-4 people. Something for everyone (Nana went nuts over the almonds no pun intended & my son loved the cookies & Jelly Bellies), and everything was completely delicious (my favorite was the large bag of raspberry snaps)...it even included a cheese spreader with a nice wooden handle (my husband enjoyed the pepper jack & gourmet crackers)! Each item was larger than the snack packages that you find in other gift baskets more than one serving per package.

The birthday bear is well put-together & not some cheap stuffed toy (when I tugged on the fur & seams, nothing came loose).

The beautiful boxes are an added bonus...not only are they a lovely gold, but they are VERY sturdy, and could easily be reused for future gifts. In the meantime, they store inside of one another, like matryoshka dolls, saving space.

I've seen similar gift packages for $50 to $90, but they weren't as impressive as this tower set.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When this arrived I was confused by the large box it was shipped in, I didn't remember ordering anything that would be as big as it was. When I pulled out the tower I was very pleasantly surprised at its size and the content! I thought something half its size was going to show up. The listing doesn't have a price and I can judge well at the size of some things by the price. I immediately sampled each item with my husband and this is what we thought of everything.

Jelly Bellys never let me down. The box has 10 flavors: Very Cherry, Watermelon, Pear, Green Apple, Tangerine, Blueberry, Buttered Popcorn, Cinnamon, Coconut, Licorice. Serves 3.

Smoked almonds were very, uh, smoky and a bit too salty. They were okay. Serves 2.

Sonoma pepper jack cheese had a nice flavor but the texture is strange. I don't know if that is because it wasn't refrigerated yet or what. I'll stick with eating it on crackers instead of eating it alone. Serves 6.

Angelina's butter cookies were so-so. Serves 3.

Dill sourdough pretzel nuggets were great! I only had one, but I look forward to them as a snack later tonight. Serves 2.

Licorice Petites. My husband and I hate licorice, so I can't review it. Three individually wrapped pieces come in the little box. I'm saving them for when my dad visits. Serves 3.

Raspberry Snaps were different. I've never tried anything like it. Not overly sweet and a good texture, they were dusted in a light pink powdered sugar. Serves about 2

Cranberry Harvest Medley is I think my favorite of the bunch. Dried cranberries with roasted almonds go so well together. Serves 2.

Caramel popcorn was delish and it only has 100 calories. The box has one decent sized serving in it.

Three pepper water crackers were good, especially with the pepper jack cheese. They aren't too peppery and have some kind of light seasoning. Serves 4.

The cheese spreader came in handy.

Savory snack mix was yummy. It tastes similar to Gardetto snack mix you can find at any grocery store. Serves 2.

The bear is really cute. I love him!

I wish I knew what the cost of this item was going to be so I could say if it is worth buying. Judging by my experience with gift towers I can see the company charging roughly $80 for it which considering what it is and the variety you get I'd say is worth it. It will certainly bring a smile to the recipient's face!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are not sure what to send someone for their birthday, this birthday gift box tower just might be the solution you are looking for.

Because of the Birthday Bear that is included in this gift tower, it may appeal more to the female persuasion initially, but the enclosed contents, a great mix of sweet and savory can be enjoyed by everyone, from young people to older adults.

There are a total of 4 Individual Gold Gift Boxes in graduated sizes, all tied up with a nice green and accented purple ribbon bow, which ties all 4 gift boxes up neatly.

The Savories Included Are: A Round Box Of Pepper Jack Cheese Wedges, which comes along with A Small Stainless Steel Cheese Knife, A Box Of Three Pepper Water Crackers, A Savory Snack Mix Box, A Bag Of Dill Seasoned Sourdough Pretzels, and A Small Box Of Smoked Almonds.

The Sweets Included Are: A Box Of 10 Different Flavors Of Jelly Belly's, A Bag Of Fleur De Sel Caramel Popcorn, A Box Of Sweet Butter Cookies, A Small Box Of Licorice Candies, which I did not try, because I do not care for the taste of licorice, and A Box Of Raspberry Snap Cookies, which I did try. They were very tasty and crunchy, a new taste treat for me.

There is even One Sweet/Savory item, A Box Of Cranberry Harvest Medley, which is a combination of dried cranberries and almonds, very tasty.

The final item in this Gift Box Tower is a very cute, seems to be a very well made sort of ivory colored Happy Birthday Bear, that wears a Purple Happy Birthday Hat, with Curly Ribbons of pink, green and purple colors. The bear will be a nice keepsake after you eat up all of the goodies, which are 2 Pounds in total.

The food items I did try were fresh and tasty. The 4 Gold Gift Boxes will be resused, would be perfect to use for anyone's gifts since the color is gender neutral, would be wonderful to keep on hand, or to keep for yourself to store things. The Gold Gift Boxes are not the real flimsy kind. A few of mine tho were alittle scuffed up, both inside and outside, but you would probably use tissue paper inside the boxes anyway, if you were using/reusing these boxes for gifts. I notice everything, because Iam very detail oriented, but it's not a big issue.

I love things that can be reused like these boxes, something like this bear to have after you eat all of the goodies, even the ribbon can be reused, so in this sense I also feel that this is a very practical gift too.

I love all of the individual colorful packaging too.

I think this Gift Box Tower would be a very good idea to add to your what should I get for someone's birthday?, if you aren't sure exactly what someone would like, or even if you do know what they like, even say for a office gift. I think this Gift Box Tower would work well for many employment situations.

This Gift Box set may just be the problem solver you need for your next gift giving dilemma!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I loved the way this looked in the beautiful gold boxes and ribbon in a tall tower. I was a bit disappointed though when I opened it all because it seemed like nothing all that special. The foods inside were fine but they looked like they were going to be amazing by the packaging. Something with a fancy name Ive never heard before was chex mix and a few of the other things came in very tiny quantities. The Birthday Bear was by far the best part. It is adorable.

Want Wine.com Happy Birthday Tower Discount?

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The picture looks better than the actual product, I'll begin by saying. When I received the package, I was surprised by how cheap the gold-colored boxes looked. Some of the gold paper was peeled off or scratched, and in some of the boxes the white lining paper was also ripped, showing the gray cardboard underneath. I had thought I could reuse those boxes as gift boxes, because they are pretty sturdy, but I won't because of the scratches and rips. Instead of boxes bursting with snacks, each box only contained two to three items, in most cases leaving a lot of empty space. Though overall there was plenty of food, it didn't seem like it because of the presentation. No colored tissue paper or anything to make the boxes look fuller.

The selection and quality of food also varied:

Smoked Almonds: I like smoked flavoring but something was off. Too strong? They were okay.

Jellie Bellies: A medium sized box of them.

Sonoma Jack Pepper Jack Cheese: I liked how they were individually wrapped into wedges. A

spreader was included! A nice addition.

Angelina's Butter Cookies: These are just like those Danish cookies in the blue tins.

Dill Seasoned Sourdough Pretzel Nuggets: Much too salty; they could have been so much better if there was less salt.

Raspberry Snaps: These were delicious!Biscuits with rasberry flavored powder and flecks.

Cranberry Harvest Medley: Good because it's an almond-cranberry mix. But nothing special.

Fleur del Sel Caramel Popcorn: This was good. The popcorn was crunchy and didn't stick to your teeth.

Three Pepper Water Crackers: Went well with the cheese. I liked them.

Savory Snack Mix: The same as Chex Mix.

Licorice Petites: haven't tried

Happy Birthday Bear: Eh. Not so cute that I would give it to anyone over 8 years old.

The serving size of packages like the Cranberry Medley and Savory Snack Mix, pretzels, licorice and popcorn would only feed about one person.

Overall, I'm slightly disappointed; everything seemed kind of cheap to me, rather than gourmet, which is what I was expecting. One would proably do better to make their own gift tower than drop $50 or so on this one, in my opinion.

Maynard's Wine Gums 215g (7.6 oz) Bag (Pack of 6)

Maynard's Wine Gums 215g BagThese are the true wine gums from my childhood. The green one should be lime flavoured which is where these differ from Gustav's version where the green are apple I believe, not 100% except that they are not lime. These are also more "tender" than the Gustav's wine gums. Shipping was fast given that they were shipped from the UK. It took a week from when I ordered the item from the UK until I received it. Price was good as well compared to the average price here on Amazon when it comes to Maynard's wine gums.

I love Maynard's Wine Gums. These were perfect...fruity and juicy, just as I remembered them from when I traveled to England years ago. I wish they were sold in the U.S. I would purchase from this seller again.

Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin (Sweet Cooking Rice Wine) 10 Oz.

Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin 10 Oz.Kikkoman mirin is probably what's called mirin-fu chomiryo (literally mirin-like seasoning). It's certainly not hon mirin (true mirin). If you look at the ingredients list, you'll see a big give away: Rice, Water, **Corn Syrup**, Alcohol, Salt. I'm not even sure this is made with rice wine. It's got rice and (a very little) alcohol in it, but it's sweetened with corn syrup. That's not mirin.

Real mirin is sweetened by rice that has been subjected to the Aspergillus oryzae fungus, which breaks down the rice starches into sugar. It's what's used in the production of sake. Mirin uses the same fungus to produce the unfermented sugars that sweeten this essential Japanese cooking wine.

If you're looking for the real thing, go to an Asian market and check the labels. Anything with sugar or corn syrup in it isn't authentic. Eden Foods also makes a widely available and very good mirin made from organic brown rice, rice koji (Aspergillus oryzae), pure water and sea salt.

(The salt in mirin sold in the US is not authentic either, it's added to calssify the wine as cooking wine, thereby avoiding alcohol taxes).

Do yourself a favor, read the labels and opt for authenticity. You won't regret it.

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM)Mirin and Soy Sauce. That is all you really need for authentic Japanese cooking. And you need it everywhere. Those two liquids are the foundation for almost all recipes, and are used in some quantity in every dish. I do a considerable amount of Japanese cooking, and running out of mirin sends me into panic mode and heading out to the store.

Don't be fooled into thinking that "teriyaki sauce" has anything with Japanese cuisine. Purely an American invention, true teriyaki cooking is a combination of mirin and soy sauce, based on the meat or vegetables which are then slowly cooked, rotating sides until they become a delicious brown sticky mess. It is sooo much better than the fast food restaurants try to pass off as "Japanese teriyaki".

When it comes to brands, it is hard to go wrong with Kikkoman. For both mirin and soy sauce, they put out a consistently good product that you can count on to enhance your cooking. There are probably more refined and expensive brands out there, but Kikkoman does me just fine, as it does for the millions of Japanese households where it sees daily use.

As a sweetened wine, mirin adds flavor as well as nutrients to a dish, and can even be used as a sugar substitute in some recipes for those trying to escape from refined white sugar. Check out Japanese Foods That Heal for an in-depth discussion on mirin's health benefits and uses.

I bought a cookbook that uses Mirin in some recipes. I've used it and it makes a great addition to a recipe. Just like using any cooking wine. Give it a try.

This product is entirely too salty. It should be called "Salty Cooking Rice Wine". I haven't used it in my recipes yet, but it will take some adjustment to compensate for all the salt.

Want Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin (Sweet Cooking Rice Wine) 10 Oz. Discount?

I made the mistake of not checking the reviews or ingredients for this product thinking is a quick off-the-shelf commodity purchase. Turns out it's completely fake not real rice wine at all. It's got glucose and corn syrup added.

Tastes and smells awful.

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, German Riesling Traminer, 17.5-Pound Box

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, German Riesling Traminer, 17.5-Pound BoxThis is an excellent choice if you like Reislings. It was a little dry after completing the fermentation process, but it's nothing that a little simple sugar couldn't solve. I was able to sweeten it to the likings of the drinkers and it turned out perfect. Recommend this to Riesling lovers.

I have purchased many of these wine kits. They are a good value for an everyday table wine. I've been making wine for about 15yrs and have made over 200 kits similar to this one. I entered my Riesling/Traminer in a competition and it received a bronze medal.

Buy Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, German Riesling Traminer, 17.5-Pound Box Now

Its been about 50 days since I started this kit. Like the other of this brand I bought, I was weary about the 6.1L juice bag. I made changes to it and I would recommend others do the same, in which you do not make 6 gallons out of this and stop at 5 gallons. I got about 23 bottles out of the kit because I wanted a "thicker" tasting wine. Still the end result is a white wine that smells pretty good, looks a little on the clear side and tastes, to me anyway, kinda thin. Now my wife and mother on the other had, like it very much. I sweetend this back after stabilizing, back to a semi dry level. The wine works well with a white fish and blander pork. I like a lot of big bold flavors myself, so for me I won't be doing this kit again but if you are just starting out and you want an inexpensive product to start with, get this kit. Its a nice "middle-of-the-road" wine that will please just about anyone. So 3 out of 5 stars.
