Beemster Vlaskaas Cheese - Sold by the Pound

Beemster Vlaskaas Cheese - Sold by the PoundFor those of us who are Lactose-Intolerant, cheese might seem an impossible thought. But Beemster cheeses are all VERY lactose-free, although they ARE made with actual milk (I am VERY lactose-intolerant, and have never had a problem with any of them, but milk allergics MIGHT have an issue.)

But more importantly, the Vlaskaas variety is the closest thing I have been able to find to the yellow American cheese that so many people here in the USA have grown up with-AND... IT'S DELICIOUS! The cheese IS a bit drier than most American cheeses, and can dry out quickly if not eaten for a few days, but it has the same wonderful taste that I have missed for so long. I have not yet tried making Mac & Cheese with it, but I have tried making grilled cheese-the taste there was not the same, but the cheese did melt normally on the grill and it still tasted pretty good. Also, I use some grated Beemster Farmer's Cheese variety on homemade pizzas to give them the extra flavor and color that I'm used to (when making homemade pizzas, I use primarily shredded Cablanca white goat cheese, which is the closest I have been able to find to Mozarella, and top it off with a thin layer of Beemster Farmer's Cheese).

This is a delightfully delicious gourmet cheese that is well worth the order, even if you are NOT lactose-intolerant.

Cheerwine NORTH CAROLINA LONGNECK CHERRY - Since 1917; unlike the Soviets, still here!, 12-Ounce G

Cheerwine NORTH CAROLINA LONGNECK CHERRY - Since 1917; unlike the Soviets, still here!, 12-Ounce Glass BottleI am not a soda drinker. Before drinking this, I hadn't had a soda in probably a year. This is very very good especially in the glass bottles. It's got cane sugar instead of hfcs. It's got a very cherry taste and a good but not overpowering sweetness. The price is pretty good also about two bucks a bottle. That sounds expensive until you realize this is glass and can get super shipping on it. This also makes a good conversation piece if you don't live in the region it's sold.

Cheerwine is a regional soda from North Carolina, that has expanded into 12 other southeast states in the last 8 years. Started in 1917, Cheerwine was first formulated in the basement of L. D. Peeler's wholesale grocery store. Created during prohibition when it was common to name sodas after liquors. The owner added a new cherry flavor syrup to his previous soda and cheerwine was born. Believe it or his great grandsons still run the company.

The bergundy red soft drink has a nice mellow cherry flavor, and the color is really a pretty burgundy color, almost like wine. It is more subtle and seems less sweet on the palate than the grocery store house brands of cherry soda. No aftertaste or bite. It is easy to see why the locals in North Carolina rave about this and the other drink from this company, "Cool Moon". Also made in diet soda.

I ordered this drink after hearing about it from several sources. Everyone said it was so good! I agree totally. It tastes very good and the taste is unique. Would recommend to anyone who wants something new and different to drink. The only con about it is the cost. It is kind of expensive.

I really wish this stuff was more common in California. It has the perfect cherry flavor, and it is so refreshing to drink at the beach.

Roland Fancy Grained Mustard With White Wine

Roland Fancy Grained Mustard With White WineI have been using Roland mustard for years. Their grained mustard with white wine is the best. Not too strong but gives the food a great flavor. I have tried using other products but they do not measure up to Roland products. Give it a try, you might like it.

Walters Homemade Honey Almond Nougat, 4-Ounce Packages (Pack of 4)

Walters Homemade Honey Almond Nougat, 4-Ounce PackagesI've bought this nougat in England and brought it home, so was delighted to find I could buy it here. The nougat is delicious -not too sweet and very tasty! And it was fresh and soft when it arrived, and well packed by the shipper.

Bought this as holiday presents, and it was very well received. This nougat is very fresh, soft, tasty. It is sweet, but not too sweet. Has a wonderful texture. I sent some to my mother in law and she really enjoyed it. I'll definitely buy this again and recommend it to my friends.

I personally hope the almond in it are not big chunks but tiny pieces. And it's a little too sweet.

Kristian Regale Sparkling Beverage, Lingonberry-Apple, 25.4-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4)

Kristian Regale Sparkling Beverage, Lingonberry-Apple, 25.4-Ounce BottlesSame great carbonation as always from kristian regale. Red raspberry color, but almost with a touch of orange, and smells very different from any other juice I've had, must be the lingonberry, and I can get just a touch of the apple, a bit of a tart smell. A bit of a musky, dusty rose scent. It's a bit more strongly carbonated on the tongue, the fizz completely evaporates. Only a hit of the apple gets through the very powerful lingonberry. As typical, it's not as sweet as most juices, but also has a slightly bitter finish, and medium acidity. It had some noticeable dregs at the end.

As for paring I'd drink it with something that you'd normally have with a fruity drink, maybe mexican food like fajitas or burritos.

Did I Like it: Not as much as Kristian Regále's Pomegranate offering, but it's still a unique drink worth trying.

As a non-drinker, I have had lots of non-alcoholic beverages. There is something classy and smooth about this one. Tiny bubbles seems more akin to champagne rather than large bubbles in the others that is more akin to soda pop. The ligonberry-apple really makes it special and holiday-like.
