Beemster Vlaskaas Cheese - Sold by the Pound

Beemster Vlaskaas Cheese - Sold by the PoundFor those of us who are Lactose-Intolerant, cheese might seem an impossible thought. But Beemster cheeses are all VERY lactose-free, although they ARE made with actual milk (I am VERY lactose-intolerant, and have never had a problem with any of them, but milk allergics MIGHT have an issue.)

But more importantly, the Vlaskaas variety is the closest thing I have been able to find to the yellow American cheese that so many people here in the USA have grown up with-AND... IT'S DELICIOUS! The cheese IS a bit drier than most American cheeses, and can dry out quickly if not eaten for a few days, but it has the same wonderful taste that I have missed for so long. I have not yet tried making Mac & Cheese with it, but I have tried making grilled cheese-the taste there was not the same, but the cheese did melt normally on the grill and it still tasted pretty good. Also, I use some grated Beemster Farmer's Cheese variety on homemade pizzas to give them the extra flavor and color that I'm used to (when making homemade pizzas, I use primarily shredded Cablanca white goat cheese, which is the closest I have been able to find to Mozarella, and top it off with a thin layer of Beemster Farmer's Cheese).

This is a delightfully delicious gourmet cheese that is well worth the order, even if you are NOT lactose-intolerant.

A L'Olivier Raspberry Fruit Vinegar 200ml

A L'Olivier Raspberry Fruit Vinegar 200mlI always get compliments when I make a balsamic salad dressing with this vinegar. I like it enough that I have no qualms about paying shipping for it when I want it. I usually buy three at a time so I won't run out too soon. I have found nothing of this quality on store shelves.

Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin (Sweet Cooking Rice Wine) 10 Oz.

Kikkoman Aji-mirin, 10-Ounce BottleI'm not sure why, but it seems like a lot of the recipes my friends have for teriyaki sauce are almost exactly like mine. Except for this one ingredient. Then they want to know why mine tastes a lot better. It's the mirin, plus using a bit less sugar because my husband prefers not-as-sweet teriyaki sauces.

For quick meals at home, I just mix the ingredients in a measuring cup, and stir them directly in my wok without making a glossy sauce out of it. For grilling, I cook the sauce and thicken it with corn starch mixed into a couple tablespoons of mirin. We also use mirin for our rice balls to add a little flavor to the rice. This is a nice inexpensive choice for mirin and adds a good flavor. Like vinegar, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, it's a staple in my kitchen for homecooked meals.

This is the same brand we buy at the grocery store but Amazon brings it to me at a much better price.

False advertising. This is not Mirin ... or wine ... it's a seasoning. Surprisingly disappointed that this has not been corrected by now.

I used this to make teriyaki chicken. Kikkoman has always been a great brand. You can always notice then difference when you use Aji-mirin.

It's hard to give a product as generic as this five stars, but the quality has been consistent over multiple orders, it is always as described, the price is good, and it is delivered quickly!

Classic Gourmet Cheese: Gourmet Cheese Gift Basket

Classic Gourmet Cheese: Gourmet Cheese Gift BasketI bought this basket as a present for my family this past Christmas. It arrived mid afternoon and by midnight almost all the crackers were gone; they're to die for: sweet/salty and crunchy at the same time.

Beware: At least one of the cheeses is very spicy

Great value for the money!

Art of Appreciation Gift Baskets Meat and Cheese Lovers Tote with Smoked Salmon

Art of Appreciation Gift Baskets Meat and Cheese Lovers Tote with Smoked Salmonterrible ..no way is this 4.3 lbs of food..it is inetible.cheese comes in thin flat rectangle, the product does not even resemble the picture,,reviews must all be from people that sent it as a gift so they dont know how bad it is and the recipients dont complain..

The basket is mostly filled with crackers and the cheese is processed "cheese food". There is nothing more to say, but don't bother.

It was very small and some of the products were broken during shipping. Not worth the money. The basket it was in was nice and the presentation was nice, however, it was small and all of the items were snack size.

Shipping was prompt! As far as I know, recipient was happy with the contents. The price seems like it pretty fair for what is included in the basket.

The recipient was very happy, and called twice to say he was enjoying the food. For those who don't like sweets or fruit, this is a very good gift basket.

Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard (6.5 ounce)

Bloc de Foie Gras de CanardI'll be short, I would routinely buy this at Costco when they carried it, it was cheaper, but worth it. I'm French, and I grew up on fois gras and this is pretty close to what i remember! Granted its not on par with homemade fois gras, but it's pretty darn close. I'm a bit shocked of the negative review it got. It's pricey with the shipping, but order a few blocs and get your money's worth. Make sure to serve on a chilled plate (or straight from the terrine!)

With all respect, I implore you to use your own judgement and conscious when buying this product, but please understand what it is.

These animals have been force fed by sticking metal tubes down their throats until their livers become 10 times their normal size. They frequently have gashes all over their beaks and throats. The ducks are so frightened of humans that even the few that have been rescued will never let a human touch them again.

Please don't be allow these companies to hide the facts from you, and the facts are unsettling, to say the least. Use your own judgement, but please don't be blind.

Disgusting and cruel. Do not buy this, please. These poor animals are tortured their whole life by being force fed through tubes for the sake of a "good meal"! Chai Diaries Premium Tea- Directly Sourced, All Natural Teas; 15 Full Leaf Pyramid Tea Bags

Chai Diaries Premium TeaToo soon for a final verdict, only one potful brewed. But, for the interim...

I was taken in by the name. If this is chai, it is the most subtlely spiced tea ever. Even the orange is very subtle. Bigelow Constant Comment has a big flavor, and something slightly more subtle would be appreciated, but this tea is too, too far at the other end of the continuum.

Container is impressive--good artwork, but unless a second or third potful changes my mind, the tea inside is not nice for the price.

Revision 1: I've gotten myself on the outside of a second and even third pot, I can now expand my comments. I do not normally use milk or cream in my tea, but I do use a sweetener--just enough to "round-off the corners." The second and third pots of this tea were taken with no sweetener (still no milk or cream). This tea is better without the sweetener--it gives you a subtle black tea flavor, very subtle (that's why it's better with no additions--it doesn't have "corners" to be rounded). I still adamantly state that it is NOT chai as I know it, and NOT orange. I will make the best of the remaining tea by drinking it sans sweetener. Not sure I will buy more--it's very pricey for all the NOTs.
