Wine Finishing Sauces by Buckhead Gourmet - Sauce Marsala (9 ounce)

Wine Finishing Sauces by Buckhead Gourmet - Sauce MarsalaI made chicken Marsala with this sauce and it was so delicious. The whole meal only took 15 minutes to make, a real time saver. The sauce is a bit expessive, so when I went to reorder I decided to see if Buckhead Gourmet had a web site. They do and the prices are a lot less. I also order some of their other sauces, I'm sure they'll be every bit as good.

I thought there was more than one when I ordered, since the pictured showed five. The sauce is very good.

Marsala Sauce

Marsala SauceWe were looking for a Marsala sauce to replace the one that Trader Joe's stopped carrying which was terrific. This one is not as good, but better than the last two we tried.

I was pleasantly surprised how excellent this sauce was! Two jars with a pound of pasta, and it was restaurant quality. The longer I let the pasta sit with the sauce, the longer it soaked up the juices, the better it tasted. For a quick and delicious dinner, you can't go wrong.

Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin (Sweet Cooking Rice Wine) 17 Oz.

Kikkoman - Aji-Mirin 17 Oz.Many American recipes use cooking sherry instead of sweet rice wine. Where ever you see sherry in an Asian recipe use this to create a much more authentic flavor.

Using this with soy sauce instead of factory made teriyaki sauce really adds zing to your dish. A truly tasty addition to a marinade.

Makes fabulous sauce for stir fry. Just sweet enough, just pungent enough. Mix with corn starch, Raw Blue Agave, soy sauce, fresh ground ginger and add when veggies just about cooked, then stir and serve.

From the name, you might think that this is Mirin, or sweet cooking rice wine. It's not. Here's the ingredient list: "Glucose syrup, Water, Alcohol, Rice, Corn syrup, salt". What you're buying here is glorified sugar-water. It's a scam that this product has mirin in the name, but is a cheap substitue "sweet cooking rice seasoning" instead.

From reference, from About.com, here's what mirin is supposed to be: "Mirin is a Japanese condiment which contains about 14% alcohol. To make mirin, steamed mochi-gome (glutinous rice), kome-koji (cultured rice), and shochu (distilled alcoholic beverage) are mixed and fermented for about 2 months." http://japanesefood.about.com/od/saucecondiment/p/mirinprofile.htm

This makes my brown rice taste good, which means I eat more of it. This is great stuff; just add this and a dash of soy sauce to short grain brown rice :)

Kristian Regale Sparkling Beverage, Pomegranate-Apple, 25.4-Ounce Glass Bottles (Pack of 4)

Kristian Regale Sparkling Beverage, Pomegranate-Apple, 25.4-Ounce Glass BottlesThe color of Kirstian Regále Pomegrante-Apple is peach-ish, or coral. The Pomegranate is the stronger smell, overwhelming the apple. The fizz isn't nearly as fizzy as Martinelli's, and the taste is sharp with a strong bite. The Pomegranate gives it a fair amount of acidity without too much of a tang. The bite overwhelms the finish as it fizzles away. The apple can be tasted, but acts more to tone down the pomegranate. It went very well with the lemon chicken we had, which was already pretty acidic. The Chicken was pretty light, yet still strongly acidic, and this Sparkler went well with it. It's sweet, but much dryer than any of the other sparkling juices we've had, and cleanses the palette much like the dealcoholized wines I've had. Less of a soda than other sparkling juices I've tried so far, with smaller bubbles. It's not flat, just finer. This doesn't have a head, while the others generally have a bit of one. This one also has continues tiny bubbles drifting upwards, where the others I've tried so far (Welch's Red and their White sparkling juices, as well as R.W. Knudsen's Sparkling Pear Juice and Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Grape) just have bubbles that are stagnant, attached to the side of the glass (in general.)

Did I like it: Yes, both my wife and I enjoyed it quite a bit. 9 out of 10.

My family & I adore sparkling juices. It was great to find one with more antioxidants than just grape or apple alone. I bought this once for a special family gathering. The next time I went to purchase it, the price had gone up higher than I was willing to pay. If it goes on sale again, I will buy.

I don't like wine so this is a great substitute with a great taste. I love it and will order it again in the future.

Black Mountain (8 ounce) by igourmet

Black Mountain by igourmetExcellent cheese with garlic, herbs and wine. I know this review doesn't add much to the description above, but at least you'll know that someone who had it likes it.

This is a delicious cheddar with herbs and spices. Whole Foods used to carry it, but they stopped, so I ordered it for my husband as a gift. It was delivered in excellent condition and was delicious.
