Vino Italiano 4 Week Wine Kit, Tuscany Rosso Magnifico, 15.5-Pound Box

Vino Italiano 4 Week Wine Kit, Tuscany Rosso Magnifico, 15.5-Pound BoxThis is my third Vino Italiano kit and I made a double batch of this Tuscany Rosso Magnifico to fill a 40 liter oak barrel I have ... I want to give this kit every opportunity to shine. It's going to be my "house table wine" to enjoy with everyday meals while I wait for some of my upper end wine kits to fully mature.

A couple of hints to better appreciate these Vino Italiano wine kits:

1. Have realistic expectations. These kits make a nice light to medium-bodied wine. Beautifully red and brilliant in the glass, they are light and food friendy wines (and not necessarily great representations of their varietal). But if you're expecting something full-bodied and inky dark like a Napa Cabernet, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. Keep in mind, this bottle of wine cost you $1.50 to make. (The cost of bottles doesn't count ... you can reuse them over and over stay green!)

2. These wines will improve with time in the bottle. While it's hard to resist dipping into your supply for weekly tastings, six months to a year in the bottle will make for a much nicer, less green-tasting wine.

I'll add more to this review after I bottle this wine, but I will say that it is drinking better than the Valpolicella did at this early stage. Less dry than the Valpolicella with a nice balance of both fruit and tannins. I think I'll be proud to call this Rosso Magnifico my "house red."

I just finished making my 1st batch.. Great price, great taste..PLUS corks, labels, capsules and everything you need truly does come with it. I saw that a couple people were saying that some of these wines are a little weak.. What I do is make 5 gallon instead of 6. You get 25 bottles, I's still under $2.00 per bottle and the flavor is excellent.

This is a wonderful kit. They ferment out quickly. Use excellent ingredients and they have the added benefit of labels, cork, and foil seals. Best part? they taste good, too. They are a medium body and are quite good!

I am not sure if I would still consider myself a beginner, anymore, but I am relatively new to this. Only making wine for a little over a year... In the past year, however, I made about 11 kits from different manufactures.

This wine, Tuscany Rosso Magnifico, is quite fantastic. I made it at 5 gallons by putting in all of the juice concentrate, but only re-constituting with water up to the 5 gallon mark. I also added 30 Grams of Oak Chips. Now, I personally don't like a lot of oak in a wine. For that reason, I don't like many commercial wines... 30 Grams of Oak is enough not to actually taste excessive oak, but have a better mouth feel. I got the oak from a home brew close to where I live. Medium Toasted Oak. Again, it is just my opinion, but less is more with the oak... You should trust your tongue, and not worry about what others say. You can always add more oak, you can't take it away...

I put the oak in the carboy for the secondary fermentation. Not in the bucket. I learned that from copying a Mosti Mondale kit. Some kits but oak dust in the primary... So far, I have had good luck with the oak chips in the secondary.

The wine does taste much better, if you let it sit in the bottle 6 months after you bottle it. But, you will most likely not be able to wait that long.... Put 3 or 4 bottles away to age, if you can't wait for the whole batch...

I am putting a video series up on YouTube, that shows you how easy it is to make this kit. Search for Sicilian Prince and vino italiano, and you should find my videos. It may be helpful if you never did it, to look at the process and once you see it, you will be confident that you can do it...

You will need some equipment to do this, but you don't need more than a beginner equipment kit to be successful. Once you do it, you will be hooked... I typically do two or three at a time... At the time of this writing, I am doing WE Nero D'Avalo, WE Chocolate Raspberry Port, Vino Italiano Merlot. When I get a free carboy, I will do the Rosso Magnifico again. Mrs.Claus got it to me for Christmas.

By the way, everyone who has tried my Rosso Magnifico loves it...

See what I mean. You will get hooked...

I hope this review helps some of you out there.

Cheers!

These wine kits are great! I have made most of the reds, and have really enjoyed them.I do however tweak them just a little, and offer the following suggestions to make them really good.First use quality water [not from the tap], make 5 gallons instead of 6,I use red star yeast [it's only .99,and works better] or use a yeast nutrient along with your standard yeast included, and finally I always add a condioner at bottling. The cost is only a few dollars more, but the quality must better. All in all these are great kits both my freinds and family have enjoyed and I will definitly keep buying.

Truffle and Barolo Delicacy (Delizia di Barolo Tartufata) by La Favorita 3.38 oz

Truffle and Barolo Delicacy by La Favorita 3.38 ozI bought the Truffle & Barolo Delicacy in Nigeria of all places. I purchased 1 bottle and the next day went back and bought all 12 bottles in the store. The flavor is outstanding, you can taste the Truffle and a hint of the Barolo wine, which is not heavy but a delicate addition. This goes well on roasted veggies, salads, I use it on fruit and proscuitto. I even used it on a leg of lamb. If you try this, I am confident that you will enjoy it as much as my family and friends do.

SoBe Lifewater Lean Machine Fuji Apple Pear, 20 oz (Pack of 24)

SoBe Lifewater Lean Machine Fuji Apple Pear, 20 ozThis stuff is the best. I think it's a little over priced on Amazon as I can get it for $1.00 at my local grocer. If you're kind and call in advance you can probably sweet-talk your local grocer into selling you a whole case.

I would love to be able to buy SoBe Fuji Apple Pear by the case for my husband. He has completely given up soda and now drinks Lifewater...however, I pay $1.00 per bottle at our local Wal-Mart Store and would be crazy to spend $125.00 for 24/ 20 ounce bottles...this is outrageous! Why would anyone want to pay 5 times the price? I love shopping on Amazon, but on this item you will not get my business!! Why is it so high?

Disappointed

I can't find enough of this stuff... It's either becoming very popular or is very under stocked, since I find myself cleaning out the entire stock of the two stores nearest me on a weekly basis.

You should be able to find this for 99 cents.... beware, some places charge significantly more.

Great for diabetics like me, and very refreshing after a swim or hockey game. I like all the flavors except the red colored ones, acai, and yum berry, which remind me too much of hawaiian punch.

I have a lot of food allergies too, but haven't had any problem with any of the 0 calorie lifewaters.

I'm a natural skeptic and had to look up the ingredients before adopting something that seemed too good to be true. The sweetener used in this stuff is called Erythritol, which from what I've read is a natural substance from fruit and doesn't have all the side effects other sweeteners do, like promoting cavities, obesity, diabetes, or diarrhea.

I took it easy at first because i have sensitive bowels, but have found that i can drink this stuff from morning to night and not have any trouble. Although as with anything I eventually get bored and have to switch back to ice tea for a while.

I can't say the same for the regular lifewaters or any other beverage except unsweetened ice tea, and water, which get a little boring after a while.

This stuff has helped me kick the soda habit and reduce my appetite... thank you sobe!

It would be wonderful if I could have this stuff delivered by the case instead of having to go hunting for it a few bottles at a time.

I absolutely love this product & can't get stores to keep up with this particular flavor. All of a sudden within a week, it has gone up 33% at Wal-Mart, but this price is totally RIDICULOUS!!! Who in Heaven's name would pay this much for it. You should be ashamed of yourselves!!

Reserve Du Chateau 6 Week Wine Kit, Italian Amarone Style, 55-Pound Container

Reserve Du Chateau 6 Week Wine Kit, Italian Amarone Style, 55-Pound ContainerWe received this exactly as sold. The price was better than great, it was fantastic. We were surprised that the kit even came with labels. We are very pleased!

This is my 55th wine kit and my second all juice kit. At this point, the kit has been made and bottled-after bulk aging a couple of months.

The inside of the kit reminds me of a Mosti Mondiale all juice kit. The instructions were fine. The instructions also reminde me of the Mosti Mondaile all juice kit I have made. The look of the juice was lighter than what I'm used to seeing in an Amarone kit. I'm wondering if this going to be the weight of a Pinot Noir. This kit did not come with any crushed grape pack so I added a used one to increase the solids/weight of the wine...so now the kit is bottle aging. I'll try a bottle at about 6 months of age---which puts it at the beginning of June. Stay tuned.

I just bottled this after bulk aging in a carboy for 10 months. I topped off with Vodka. My wife said this is the best wine I've ever made and I have made many kits. The liquor store has Amarone and the cheapest bottle was $47.00. You can't go wrong with this kit.

Just as a warning, I looked everywhere on this page to see how it would arrive at my parents house for Christmas. I addressed it to myself as this gift was meant to be a huge surprise on Christmas day for my mother who loves wine. Sadly, it did not arrive in a box and therefore the surprise was ruined. I'm sure the kit will still be great, but be warned if you're sending this somewhere to later wrap as a present, it does not come in a box. The creativity behind a gift like this will be ruined. For someone like me who lives far away from home I often dont have much of a choice but to have presents sent to my parents house (addressed to me) to then wrap and give to my family on Christmas day. Not being there to see the surprise on my mother's face has really put a damper on my holiday.
