Chestnut Jam (Crème de Marrons) Andresy All natural French jam pure sugar cane 9 oz jar Confitures

I love chestnuts and while I assumed it would be sweet (being a jam), I had expected it to also taste of chestnuts. Unfortunately the only noticeably contribution from the chestnuts is a mealy texture there are some chunks in the jam but I found them to be flavorless. I have a very sweet tooth but this jam is too sweet even for me. I'm very unhappy with it and will probably just throw the rest of it away.

Love this jam, i'd eaten it in Italy (the COOP brand) and finding this in the US has not been easy. This one, while a bit different, is a great alternative and the price is nice.

My mom was a professional table tennis player so she did a lot of traveling when she was young. she would talk about her travels and there was one particular experience she would always talk about. It was the time she was in Paris for her competition and she just fell in love with the chestnut jam with the baguette in some cafe there. I can't just buy her a ticket to France and have her eat it at the same cafe but I thought I can bring part of that memory to her. When she tried this chestnut jam she loved it. She told me it was just like the one she ate back in France. I know this stuff is one of those French delicacies and it is just impossible to find nearby (believe me I looked everywhere). So I'll admit this is the only chestnut jam I have tried so I can't really compare it to other ones but my mom absolutely loved it and when I tried it I thought it was very good.
