China Black Tea Brick (1.1 pound) by igourmet

Break the brick into blocks along the serations and from one block scrape off the amount of tea desired for brewing with a cheese grater or a sharp knife and put it in a cup or mug. Pour fully boiling water over it (make that tea pot whistle!) and allow a few minutes to brew. Some tea leaves will float initially but will sink to the bottom if the water is hot enough, especially once it is sweetened with sugar or honey. Happy tea time!Coffee doesn't store very long, and my research suggests that bricked tea can be successfully stored for many years. This is a relatively inexpensive way for a caffeine-addicted prepper to try to ensure he'll have his drug for years after TSHTF. If anyone has a solution for long-term coffee storage (10-20 years) I'd love to read it.

I'll update you in about 7 weeks. I'm predicting great results.
UPDATE: 7/2/2012
I did a secondary racking yesterday. I did a taste test also and my wife and I loved it. My wife is the expert and she said it's better than anything she buys. Will bottle 7/12 and update again.
UPDATE: 7/25/2012
I've bottled this and have handed it out to friends that are serious wine drinkers. They think it's very good and my wife said order another...I have been making homemade wine for about 2 years now, 1-2 kits per month. I was never really a fan of Chardonnay but I tried this one, aged it four months, and it was wonderful. This one and Pinot Grigio are the two favorites of friends and our most requested. I have added this to my subscribe and save list of wines to make every 6 months. Amazon's subscribe and save price and policy just can not be beat.

For the first time wine maker this is simple. I tasted it as juice and I have tasted it each step along the way. (yum!) Who da thunk it could be this easy. I have racked it twice and will filter it and bottle it next. Great instructions and very easy to do. Thanks!UPDATE 7/2013:
So the wine was racked 3 times. Since I do not plan on filtering the wine I should have racked it at least one more time. I have sampled it each step of the way. I am now seven months into the process. I bottled a few weeks ago. I was a bottle short of estimated numbers even though I topped it off (with good Chardonnay) along the way. Probably overfilled bottles and definitely slopped some around in the process of bottling... messy process.
The color is bright. It has nice aromas. The wine even has pretty good features in terms of soft on the tongue, full in the mouth and gentle finish. It does not bite but does hang nicely in the back of the mouth. I will try to remember to update when I crack the first bottle in January 2014.
