Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, Sicilian Shiraz, 17.5-Pound Box

I know this is a four-week wine kit but you have to really let this wine mature in the carboy. Make sure it develops the flavors that you're looking for Sicilian Shiraz, this wine has very bold flavors, good body, and a deep finish. I only use natural spring water for our kits and it makes a difference. And never use tap water and or use filtered water from the home. I have found that you get a true wine if the watershed through and clear and clean free of contaminants I've only had this wine sitting on the shelf for five months. Can't wait to taste it and sixth month from now. It's very drinkable young we've tried it three bottles and it's getting better as it ages in the bottle. A chef friend of mine makes the Sicilian Shiraz and a full juice kit. This kit stands up to it at almost a half the price.

First try at this brand, usually use another provider. Have been making wine at home with kits for over 15 years. Thought I would give this a try and was very pleased with the outcome. I underestimated the yeast however by following the instructions to first set in warm water. It did not ferment as I like so added another dry yeast after a week. Did an extra filter just in case. The wine came out fine, excellent taste for table wine, a nice polish and aroma. Would certainly use again and recommend to any home vintner.

So far we have fermented the must and racked it once. The wine is pretty clear this early in the game. It smells wonderful, but it will need to set for another three to four weeks in a carboy to bulk age. I have had great wines with this brand, and this one looks to be another winner.

I made this kit at little over five gal.The smell tast was just great at bottling and did add little oak.

i bottled it two weeks ago and tast was good and in time will get better

Its now 9 mo.10/27/12 old it turned out great nice smell, color ,and tast

will order again and add pepper to it next time

We ramped this kit up with some extra sugar. While it might not win any awards, it was good to the point that we drank half of it while still in the carboy. Thank god for spigots.

This one we threw on a burger. Our son loves to eat them without the bun, and so we put it to the Harry test, is it too overpowering for a kid? Answer, no. It had a nice peppery taste without being "spicy" as Harry likes to say but provides the right amount of subtle pepper flavor. It does have a bite, no kick, but you definitely know there is something special on it. There were a lot of flavors going on, tasted great on a burger, would love to try it on a steak or some other beef. Rub it on all cuts of meat and vegetables, grilled or roasted. Mix it with meatballs and hamburgers. Add to soups and stews for that natural rich and warm and spicy flavor

This is not a BBQ rub. It has a real kick at the end which was spicy, but not in a good way. Threw out the rest.

Marukan Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar Lite, 12-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 3)

This is my favoriterice vinegar, and I have to mail order it since I can't get in the stores where I live. Its great for making healthy salad dressing.

However, my last order was very poorly packed and half the bottles were broken.

I bought this because of the low salt/sugar content, for health reasons, as well as the price. I've used it only a few times, and like it so far. And the 3-bottle pack will last me quite a while. Good taste.

This is a nice mild vinegar which is perfect for sushi rice. I have tried many other brands and prefer this one over the rest. Other vinegar brands were either too weak or too strong.

3 teaspoons of this vinegar

2 teaspoons of sugar

4 cups steamed rice

Best sushi rice ever.

Lalvin EC-1118 Champagne

What can I say. Its wine yeast . It works good to make wine cider and champagne. I've used it a few times.

This yeast has a very high alcohol tolerance and doesn't really seem to produce the off flavors that I have gotten using other types of yeast. The mead I made using this yeast came out slightly on the strong side but still has a pretty smooth taste. This is the best yeast I have used so far and I will definitely be using this again for my next batch.
