Sharp Cheddar Cheese (12 Oz.) Crock

Sharp Cheddar Cheese CrockI bought this during the holidays and I loved not only the cheese for holiday parties but mainly this lovely serving crock which is dishwasher safe & reusable. When the cheese ran out I filled it with a cold home made veggie dip. The crock is stoneware and handmade and for the price I thought it was a bargain. A+

Harissa Condiment in Tube - Spicy 120 Gr 3 Oz

Harissa Condiment in Tube - Spicy 120 Gr 3 OzI love Harissa but took one star for the fact that this offering is 400% overpriced. I found the same product at some local markets at a reasonable price.

After seeing Harissa on all sorts of food blogs and not being able to find it in any grocery store in MN that I've been to in the last 2 years, I gave in and bought this from Amazon. It's great stuff and I love the metal tube for keeping it fresh! Adds great flavor to corn soup and meats.

This is some good stuff, a thick red paste that is hot but not flaming, it has a rich taste that adds to whatever it is put on. I've used it on eggs, chicken, rice, just a little goes a long way. (These types of chili have the "delayed burn effect", the heat gradually builds up, so go easy at first). This will be great for camping trips, a way to brighten up boring food. Will order again.

harissa is an irreplaceable ingredient for such mediterranean dishes as cous cous. buying it in a tube makes it last virtually forever. this is the real deal, very hard to find unless you have a souk nearby. reasonable price, but shipping costs more than the product itself, so buy multiple copies.

I am going to sidestep pricing and other factors not relevant to this excellent product and focus on the harissa itself.

Like every condiment there are numerous recipes and mixes, and this one is no exception. I love it because it is spicier than other brands that I have tried, but most importantly, it has a wonderful flavor. Some brands are more biased towards heat with less though given to taste. This is a balance of both.

To be sure this is not for folks who like a touch of Tabasco or jalapenos. This paste is up there with habeneros for heat, but imparts wonderful flavors that you would never obtain from anything made with that pepper. Indeed, what sets this apart from every other hot sauce or paste I've tried is the interesting way it teases your palate. The label claims that in addition to peppers it contains carrots, turnips, tomatoes, coriander and caraway seeds. While I do not doubt that, the flavors become almost ineffable when blended with the dish in which it's used, and as spicy as it is, that aspect does not overpower the flavor. If anything it enhances it.

I've tried this in dishes like an omelet, beans and a fish stew. Believe me, even if you love your food super spicy a little of this goes a long way. It overpowered the first omelet until I figured out how much was enough (about an eighth of a teaspoon works well). A good rule of thumb that I have devised for my own personal taste is to use a tablespoon per 16 ounces of food. One final use I have discovered is to mix it in with za'atar to make a devilishly hot spread for flat breads. Za'atar can be quickly and easily made by mixing equal parts of oregany, thyme, marjoram, toasted sesame seeds and summac. Add a pinch of sea sale and make a paste with olive oil. From there blend in a little of this harissa to your taste and you have a wonderful spread that will bring flat bread to life.

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, German Riesling Traminer, 17.5-Pound Box

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, German Riesling Traminer, 17.5-Pound BoxThis is an excellent choice if you like Reislings. It was a little dry after completing the fermentation process, but it's nothing that a little simple sugar couldn't solve. I was able to sweeten it to the likings of the drinkers and it turned out perfect. Recommend this to Riesling lovers.

I have purchased many of these wine kits. They are a good value for an everyday table wine. I've been making wine for about 15yrs and have made over 200 kits similar to this one. I entered my Riesling/Traminer in a competition and it received a bronze medal.

Its been about 50 days since I started this kit. Like the other of this brand I bought, I was weary about the 6.1L juice bag. I made changes to it and I would recommend others do the same, in which you do not make 6 gallons out of this and stop at 5 gallons. I got about 23 bottles out of the kit because I wanted a "thicker" tasting wine. Still the end result is a white wine that smells pretty good, looks a little on the clear side and tastes, to me anyway, kinda thin. Now my wife and mother on the other had, like it very much. I sweetend this back after stabilizing, back to a semi dry level. The wine works well with a white fish and blander pork. I like a lot of big bold flavors myself, so for me I won't be doing this kit again but if you are just starting out and you want an inexpensive product to start with, get this kit. Its a nice "middle-of-the-road" wine that will please just about anyone. So 3 out of 5 stars.

German Reisling has become one of our favorite wines after bicycle touring German wine country. This kit makes a wine that is as close to the wines in Germany that you will find.If you have all of the basic wine making equipment,it is a breeze to make in just 5 or 6 weeks. We like it so well,we have put it on subscription with automatic delivery every 6 months, and at a 15% discount. Our only problem is not drinking it before it ages! We finally have some that is a year old,and it really improves with age.

A new Mercy For Animals investigation reveals horrific cruelty to animals at Hudson Valley Foie Gras--an Amazon foie gras supplier. French for "fatty liver," foie gras is produced by violently shoving metal pipes down the throats of ducks and force-feeding them multiple times a day in order to induce diseased livers. Birds who survive these repeated assaults have their throats cut open and their livers sold on Amazon.

Check it out.

I certainly would not by this product after seeing this video.

I am a loyal Amazon customer, and buy most of my purchases via Amazon Prime. Pull this product Amazon. Mercy for Animals captured the ducks from this farm abused, bloodied, and unable to breathe. Disgusting and unethical. .

Please encourage Amazon to stop carrying this product-ducks are cruelty force fed by workers as their necks and wings are violently grabbed and metal tubes are shoved down their throats. The end result is an animal overfed to the point of disease or death. Ducks are friendly, social animals, who have the same capacity to suffer as the dogs and cats. Imagine someone doing this to your beloved pet before shoving some overpriced, diseased fatty duck liver in your mouth.

VAMPIRES TEASE, Cabernet and Cherry Infused Sea Salt

VAMPIRES TEASE, Cabernet and Cherry Infused Sea Salt5/16/13 UPDATE: I just got my replacement box and the first word that comes to mind is "WOW!!!!!!!!" Not only is Kimarie (owner and proprietor of Saltopiasalts.com) 100% committed to quality, she is also 100% committed to customer satisfaction. Today I received my replacement of Vampire's Tease, and it was just as advertised, beautiful and TASTY!!! She asked me to select additional salts to make up for the trouble (Ginger's Crush, Up Close & Peachy) AND surprised me with three additional jars (Great Outdoors, Scarborough Fair and Krossed Keys) AND some cute wooden salt spoons & beautiful recipe cards. I sampled each flavor and WOW! THIS is the real deal! I am really impressed with every single flavor and I can not WAIT to try them out in a variety of dishes. These will surely be the highlight of our next tasting party. Just be sure you buy directly from saltopiasalts.com, NOT from some shady reseller! This woman has a true gift and passion for her craft, and once you taste you will be back for more! Thanks, Kimarie! I can't wait to share your lovely salts with family and friends!

UPDATE: Since I couldn't find the seller's information on Amazon, I checked out the product label and reached out via their website. I was so impressed with the result! The owner contacted me immediately, apologized and offered to go above and beyond to replace my product with a quality one as well as two more as gifts to make up for my bad experience! She also let me know that her product came from a reseller, and it seems the reseller didn't store the product properly. She speaks with real passion for her product and I am excited that she's going to make it right. I will be sure to update my star rating once I try the products... I have a feeling they are going to be really good!

ORIGINAL POST: I am really disappointed with this product. It doesn't look anything like the picture; the salt is a muddy brown color and there is gray "stuff" all over the inside of the container. After I tasted it (it tastes like plain old table salt), I realized the gray stuff is probably mold. GROSS!

There is no option to return this item, and I'm unable to track down the seller to ask them to send me a quality replacement that IS as advertised. I bought this along with over half a dozen other salts because this looked truly unique. Instead, $15.95 for moldy brown salt I won't use.

Chai Diaries Premium Tea- Directly Sourced, All Natural Teas; 15 Full Leaf Pyramid Tea Bags

Chai Diaries Premium TeaToo soon for a final verdict, only one potful brewed. But, for the interim...

I was taken in by the name. If this is chai, it is the most subtlely spiced tea ever. Even the orange is very subtle. Bigelow Constant Comment has a big flavor, and something slightly more subtle would be appreciated, but this tea is too, too far at the other end of the continuum.

Container is impressive--good artwork, but unless a second or third potful changes my mind, the tea inside is not nice for the price.

Revision 1: I've gotten myself on the outside of a second and even third pot, I can now expand my comments. I do not normally use milk or cream in my tea, but I do use a sweetener--just enough to "round-off the corners." The second and third pots of this tea were taken with no sweetener (still no milk or cream). This tea is better without the sweetener--it gives you a subtle black tea flavor, very subtle (that's why it's better with no additions--it doesn't have "corners" to be rounded). I still adamantly state that it is NOT chai as I know it, and NOT orange. I will make the best of the remaining tea by drinking it sans sweetener. Not sure I will buy more--it's very pricey for all the NOTs.
