Beignet Mix by Cafe du Monde (1.75 pound)

Beignet Mix by Cafe du MondeI recently took my first trip to New Orleans and HAD to learn how to make beignets!! So.. I purchased the box and started making them at home. This box is perfect if you're just starting to learn how to make beignets for the first time. I've seen quite a few videos online on how to make them from scratch, but if you want quick beignets that you don't want to wait for the dough to rise, this box of beignet mix is what you need on hand.

Gingerbread Spice Mustard Fallot French Dijon (moutarde au pain d'Epices) 7oz jar

Gingerbread Spice Mustard Fallot French Dijon 7oz jar, OneWhile they have a few mustards to choose from I picked this one solely as a dare, to the Fallot people, to disappoint me. I've had their Dijon and their Dijon with Peppercorn so I knew that they knew what they were doing. When I saw the Gingerbread variant I figured it was the LEAST appealing. For me that is always a sign of a way to expand my horizons so I went for it. It is excellent. The more detailed ingredients include wheat and spices. It's not the gingerbread taste I was expecting, which is a good thing. It is dijon with a very unique zip to it. I put it on ham with a whole grain wheat bread. I prefer high tech ingredients like Boar's Head rosemary & sundried tomato ham but it's too delicate for this particular mustard so just use a basic high quality meat. Serve it to yourself though, unless you know someone who is a total "foodie." I paired it(LOL) with a French beverage in the form of a Citadelle gin martini. Look to the French for food and art and you won't be disappointed,

Great maker of Dijon mustards. Make a great sauce for pork Try the moutarde Cassis with roast beef. Try the basil-flecked mustard with vinagrettes.

Pommery Moutarde Du Lion Extra Filtered King of Mustard

Pommery Moutarde Du Lion Extra Filtered King of MustardYou can try the rest, I tried them all. The Pommery Moutarde du Lion is THE best mustard in the universe (and then some). It was a bright flavor and a kick to it. All others seem to taste like chemicals when compared. This is the real McCoy. Absolutely phenomenal ! Is there a 6 star ?

Pommery, the maker, has 2 other brands that I use and this one is great for a little extra spiciness. The other mustards Pommery makes are not as fine ground as this one, this one reminds me of their Moutarde Royale, a really fine mustard that is hard to get.

This is an ideal summer barbecue mustard so throw on the sausage and grill away.

while this is definitely a high quality mustard this would not be considered strong or even "extra strong" by anyone that appreciates a strong dijon mustard.
