The Gracious Gourmet Spiced Sour Cherry Spread, 4-Ounce Jars (Pack of 4)

The Gracious Gourmet Spiced Sour Cherry Spread, 4-Ounce JarsThis is the best ever. Not too sweet-I don't care much for jams and jellies-but this is wonderful. Just tart enough and flavorful. Great on toast, cheese cake, and more.

SHAOHSING RICE COOKING WINE 2x750ML

SHAOHSING RICE COOKING WINE 2x750MLAs a once diligent student of Szechuwan style cooking, I gladly traveled to NYC Chinatown to obtain this precious commodity so essential for re-creating the real dish Shaohsing rice wine (12%). It was four dollars a bottle then but I would pay the $11+ price gladly enough if it could be attained via Amazon. The salted "cooking wine" is not good enough. The old standard applies: "Don't cook with any wine you wouldn't drink." I keep this item on my wishlist in case the unadulterated product is someday available. I almost ordered this in error at first sight. (If you find an online source please let me know.)

Well packaged two bottles, no damage, on time. But the product itself was so nauseatingly salty that it is unusable for any decent cook. This salt content should be shown clearly so a buyer can determine if it is even usable. I have to throw mine out.

While teaching in Linyi, Shandong, China this past spring, I took cooking classes during my spare time. Many of the recipes called for this type of wine. Amazon is the only place I've been able to find it--where I live in the US an Asian grocery store is hours away.

Yes, it's salty, but so is soy sauce and bean paste! I just use common sense. It really makes all the difference in the dishes I make. Glad I found it here on Amazon.

The seller was prompt in shipping, and the product was packaged well. No damage, no leaks or other unpleasant surprises. I ordered it, and two days later it was here.

Good job, Amazon!

Order did not arrived on time and 10 days after that I contacted the seller since the tracking said the order was still in Washington. The seller replied to my email and asked for a few days to contact the post office; they notified me that the post office could not find the order and did not know what had happened to it. Best Asian Grocers resent the order to me and it arrived within a weeks time. They were very helpful and courteous. I would definitely deal with them again.

Rhubarb Jam Andresy All natural French jam pure sugar cane 9 oz jar Confitures a l'Ancienne

Rhubarb Jam Andresy All natural French jam pure sugar cane 9 oz jar Confitures a l'Ancienne, OneI should have read the label on this: It is a spread, not jam. The flavor is acceptable, but I've been looking for a good rhubarb (not rhubarb-strawberry) jam since Bonne Maman stopped making theirs several years ago. I'm not rating my disappointment, though--even as a spread I thought this was average. I've also tried Andresy's rose jan (3 stars) and fig jam (4 stars).

McCormick Slow Cookers Dry Seasoning Mixes

McCormick Slow Cookers Hearty Beef Stew Seasoning, 1.5-Ounce PacketsWhile beef stew is almost too easy to make, I will admit to not being great at replenishing my seasonings supplies as needed. Because seasonings and spices/herbs are so expensive, I keep putting off purchasing them and the list to replenish them just keeps getting longer and longer. Eventually, I don't have anything with which to work. As such, I planned 2 6-qt crock pots of beef stew for over the holidays to always have something hearty and warm on hand for family as they came/went. Lo and behold, when I finished cutting up all the meat and veggies and loaded them into the crock pots, I had nothing on hand to actually flavor those main ingredients. So, sent hubby off to the grocery store for a quick cheat...McCormick's beef stew seasoning packets. Of course I never told him how many to get, and as he wanted to 'do it right the first trip', he got a handful of them. Actually, in error, he grabbed the ones I'd never seen before: the "SLOW COOKERS" item. Man, oh, man! To heck with buying expensive, one-jar spices to keep on hand for this meal. This product worked perfectly! Open packet, mix with 1 1/3 Cups water, pour over ingredients in crock pot, mix it up just once and let the cooker rip for a few hours. The stew was excellently cooked, beef was so tender one needed a spoon with which to lift it otherwise it would break apart and the veggies were tender but not mooshy. It was more than flavorful; the au jus was not too thick and not too thin perfect for sopping up with homemade bread that, unlike my spices, is always available in this house.

I liked it so much, as did the family members, I'm back to purchase the pack of 12 here to keep on hand as well as the "SLOW COOKERS" for pot roast. I confess, for these two meals from now on, I'm being lazy, but quick and efficient. No serious measuring, no countless bottles of assorted spices, no mess and a tremendous result.

NOTE: I did use 2 packets for each 6-qt slow cooker for although there is an easy recipe on the reverse of the packet, I don't measure my meat and veggies. I use what I have on hand and once the crock pot is at least 3/4 full, that's when I usually throw in my seasonings. The recipe provided would not be enough for my family. I didn't notice any additional recommendations on the packets indicating how much for what size slow cooker. I began with just one packet dissolved in the recommended 1 1/3 Cups of water (I used boiling water to dissolve it quicker add some warmth to the slow cooker as it begins cooking), but after pouring it over all the meat and veggies in the first pot, I just didn't think 1 packet was enough as my family likes a lot of the 'gravy'. Therefore, I added an additional prepared packet to each 6-qt crock pot which gave me perfect results.

This product uses only natural spices, no MSG, 0g trans fat per serving and no artificial flavors.

Edit: 1/2/10 Another batch made for New Year's...this time, I reduced the amount of water per packet to 1 Cup (vs 1 1/3) and got thicker, more substantial 'gravy' vs the usual 'au jus' consistency. The family liked it much, much better that way.

This packet makes excellent pulled pork. It calls for a 3lb boneless pork shoulder roast with most/all of the fat trimmed off, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar and 1/3 cup cider vinegar. Mix up the sauce, place your pork roast in your crockpot, pour sauce over, cover and that's it! You can cook your pork on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.

If I'm going to be gone slightly longer than 8 hours then I take the pork roast out of the freezer the night before and the next morning put it in the crock only partially defrosted. This seems to help keep the pork more moist if its going to be cooking more than 8 hours on low. Because usually if I'm gone for work, I'm going to be gone at least 9 hours and sometimes as much as 10. If you're going to be cooking the 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low then I recommend that the roast be completely defrosted because you want it to cook thoroughly enough that it's "pull apart" done.

I make this exactly as the recipe says except instead of regular brown sugar I used Splenda blend. I thought the ratio between meat and bbq was perfect using two pounds of meat rather than three. If you use 3lbs and you like your bbq pretty "saucey", I'd add a couple of tablespoons of water to the mix to make it stretch a bit further.

If you decide to cook this on high, I recommend using 1-2 tablespoons of water to keep the bbq sauce from scorching because generally I cook this on the low setting for 8 hours and once I let it go almost to 9.5 hours because I was late getting home and the sauce got kind of coagulated. That was fixed by adding just a bit of water and it was still fine but it might scorch if you are cooking on high and leave it longer than the 4 hours the recipe calls for.

This is a great summertime meal! I serve it with cole slaw or potato salad or macaroni salad and corn on the cob. It's fast and doesn't heat the house up and no hovering over a hot stove.

One last thing, I HIGHLY recommend using a crockpot liner when cooking this. I ran out the last time I cooked this and ended up having to soak my crock overnight and still had to scrub a bit to get the baked on sauce off of it.

While I prefer the old fashioned way of making pot roast in the crock pot, on occasion, I don't have all the ingredients handy and/or I'm in a hurry to get it done. This is a lifesaver on a hectic day. It is flavorful, easy to use, and gets the job done. Food tastes great. The family does like a lot of & thicker 'juice', so the second time around using this product, I used 2 packets and reduced the required water by a little...well, the pot roast and veggies were stellar, although a bit 'peppery hot'. I can't explain the reason for it other than I didn't use all the recommended water for the product, but it was as if I accidentally dumped a whole pepper shaker full of pepper into the pot. The meal was edible, and on a cold, Nor'Easter night it was comforting but it also helped drain all our sinuses....word of caution: stick to the instructions on the back of the packet. I'll continue using 2 packets vs 1 for my pot roasts, but will most definitely use the recommended amount of water from now on.

p.s.I also love McCormick's Slow Cooker Beef Stew packets for the same reasons mentioned above, but I've not yet messed with those instructions!!!

We purchased this from Amazon as our local store was only carrying this occasionally. It is the exact same product. It is a fast dinner that you can throw in a crock pot and do the rest when you get home. My family loves this. We have a problem, half the family cannot have dairy products, so we make the first part which is dairy free. Then we split it in two and add the sour cream to the one half. Both ways are very good. I chop the mushrooms finely and our picky eaters never know they are in there. I put the entire thing over egg noodles to complete the meal. We usually use two packets to make a double recipe because it gets eaten so fast. We never have any left overs. I highly recommend this product. McCormick has a real winner here.

I really like this mix. It is convenient and flavorful, and is great to add to pot roast when you are running out the door. I also use a packet of this mix when I am slow cooking oxtails. I like my sauce thick, so I use less water than the recommended 1 cup. I use about a 1/4 cup of water because the pot roast & veggies are going to sweat in the slow cooker anyway.

Spike Your Juice Combo, "Party Pack"

Spike Your Juice Combo, 'Party Pack'This is a great way to start making a wine like product at home with little expense! Easy to use, after 48 hours you get a very nice beverage! I would advise to watch the video on their web site. Tip: pour out a small amount ( a sip or two worth of juice) before you add the yeast packet to avoid a bubble over into your air lock. I made my first batch with 100 % white grape juice. Came out yummy . Be careful , a friend of mine made a batch from " juice" that was not 100% JUICE and you could tell, the product had an off taste. Also pick a juice with the highest sugar content you can find. Yeast like sugar! Happy Yeast equals happy wine. Start with high quality juice , finish with a nice product. I have a red grape going now, and a cranberry . The yeast loved the red grape.. this the one that over bubbled , the cranberry had a different reaction with the yeast. . Still bubbling . but not as vigorous . Love the Labels that included. makes it easy to keep track of what I have bubbling away. Remember the longer you let the yeast work the closer to "wine" you get . :-)

Not sure why this product has bad reviews, if you read the instructions it works perfectly.

Its a simple formula, yeast+ sugar -> alcohol + co2

what you need:

1) juice with HIGH sugar content. the product recommends 20g per serving minimum (welches is perfect)

2) time

thats it!

Yeast is a living organism. The colder it is the slower it will make alcohol, so you really want to keep this around room temp and not let it get to hot or it will die off.

I like leaving it set for a week (makes it decently strong, still good taste). Thats the longest I've let it sit, although my current batch is going on two weeks because I didn't feel like drinking last weekend.

This is a great product if you may be looking for some nice fruity wine with no alcohol, or if you want to dump tons of sugar into the original grape juice and make a really strong bitter wine. But, if you want something in between, this product is not for you. I wanted a decent tasting wine that I could make without going to the store and had a decent amount of alcohol in it. Unfortunately, I could never really find the right balance for making the wine. Turns out it's much easier and just about as cost effective to get wine from a store. Go figure! Granted, I did have fun while using this product, which is why I didn't hate it, but the effectiveness is not what I was looking for which is why I originally bought it.

Super cool product that makes ordinary ol' juice into sparkling alcoholic juice that actually tastes good! Do you have 2 to 14 days? Do you have a counter top or shelf? Do like to drink? Well then, this product is for you...... P.S. staring at the juice will not speed up the creation of alcohol.

Bought this in hopes that it would actually work. It doesn't make the juice unbearable, but it makes it have a bad after taste. The first time I used it I had to get my appendix taken out a day or two later (probably just a coincidence), but both the first and second time it made me crap violently.

Aspen Mulling Spice Blend, Caramel Apple, 5.65-Ounce Cartons (Pack of 9)

Aspen Mulling Spice Blend, Caramel Apple, 5.65-Ounce CartonsA diabetics nightmare--a container of sugar with traces of "spice." This should be avoided and is a terrble excuse for real mulling.

This is a mulling spice, of course not a drink in itself. But this spice can be used many ways stirred in to apple juice or orange juice (even the cheaper stuff!) and sprinkled over muffins, cookies or cakes are just some of the ways to use it. I buy 9 cartons at a time and split the cost with my mom. We love it. Just the right blend of sugars and spices! Yes, in a word YUM!

Partners All Natural Traditional Crackers, 4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Partners All Natural Traditional Crackers, 4-Ounce BoxesI took a chance on these since they seemed more healthful than typical crackers and they looked enticing on the photo. Was I ever disappointed. They are horrible! Flavorless, dry and brittle no redeeming qualities at all. Trust me and save your money.

These are fantastic, if you're looking for a flat bread style cracker that won't overpower whatever dips, compotes, and cheeses you're serving alongside them. I stumbled across these as I was searching for something comparable to the tuscan crackers from whole foods. These are flatter, but gave me the exact same flavor profile. I really like them, and they remind me of naan in a cracker or perhaps a flour tortilla cracker. A small package retails for $4.99 at my local grocery, so I was happy to find them here for much less. Perfect for large parties!

They aren't covered in SALT and BUTTER, so if you're looking for a salty, buttery cracker stick with Ritz or Club crackers.

Monin Sangria Blackberry Flavor Syrup 1 Liter

Monin Sangria Blackberry Flavor Syrup 1 LiterUsed this to make blackberry sangria that taste exactly like Carrabba's served. Absolutely delicious. All my girlfriends love it. Great for tailgating. Nice because the recipe is on the bottle for a pitcher or just a glass.

I love Sangria and Carrabas Blackberry Sangria is one of my favorites, so when I found the syrup online I was thrilled! I was ordering this like crazy before I noticed that the shipping tax cost almost as much as the product! Maybe someone can tell me why, but for now, I'll start looking for alternatives.

Updated:

Unbelievably, I WAS contacted by the seller who explained the shipping costs with a breakdown on how I was charged! For a company that cares this much about the feedback they receive, I'll update them with 2 more stars!

What it says is what you get. It is chocolate with reservoirs of whiskey in the bulges. The chocolate is good and alcohol not a bad combo, but it does crust on the inside of the bumps where it is which adds an unexpected crunchy texture that surprised me
