Santé Nuts Candied Walnuts - 3 Pack

Santé Nuts Candied Walnuts - 3 PackThese walnuts are perfectly coated: not overly sweet, slightly salty, yet deliciously crunchy! I'd definitely recommend them in a salad, but even on their own! Delicious :)

Fini 8.45oz Red Wine Vinegar

Fini 8.45oz Red Wine VinegarThis is the BEST Red Wine Vinegar we have ever tried. At our local Whole Foods it is only $5.99, which is much cheaper than the online prices since there is no shipping when you drive to the store...LOL The only ingredient on my bottle at home is "Red Wine. Contains naturally occurring sulfites" Acidity 7%. We make a dressing from 1 part Fini Red Wine Vinegar with 2 parts of Good quality Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil (we are currently using Tasso), add a small amount of Agave sweetener, salt and pepper to taste. It is delicious, especially on heirloom tomato and cucumber salad.

By the far the best red wine vinegar I have ever tasted. It makes a spectacular vinaigrette. Great gift idea: give this wonderful vinegar along with some really good quality olive oil and a nice ironwood acacia salad bowl and tongs. Perfect!

Cornucopia Fruit Wine Making Kit, Raspberry Merlot, 16.4-Pound Box

Cornucopia Fruit Wine Making Kit, Raspberry Merlot, 16.4-Pound BoxI don't mind sweeter wines like a Riesling, but I don't usually go so much for fruit flavored wines like this, but this wine has changed my mind. This is a great summer sipper or party wine. Actually more of a gulper. It's so light and smooth, that you'll end up going through a bottle before you know it. So be warned...You might feel something cold on your face and you look up, and it's the floor. I'm just saying.

Now for the technical stuff:

I reconstituted this one to somewhere between 5 1/2 and 6 gallons. I meant to make a little less, but messed up. At that level it came out to a little less than 9% ABV, which I think is a little light. I would recommend reconstituting it closer to 5 gallons, because I believe it can handle the extra alcohol without affecting its drinkability. Ideally I'd say measure the specific gravity as you're adding the water and shoot for the middle of the suggested range. If you go this route, you'll need to add water, mix thoroughly, then measure. And you'll need to repeat that each time you add more water, until you get to the desired SG. If you don't mix it well, then your readings may not be accurate. After all steps were completed I left it in the carboy for about 2 weeks longer, then bottled and let it age for about 1 month. That was all it took, and it was ready to drink. I chill this one for about 20 minutes before drinking. I know it's a red, but this is more of a wine cocktail in my opinion and it really makes it refreshing.

The Rating:

The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 was due to how low the alcohol content would be if you mixed it to the full 6 gallons per the instructions. If you add a little less water though, you'll be in good shape. It also came with labels, corks and plastic heat shrink capsules for the top. Definitely worth the price and I plan to make it again...soon.

We have purchased this exact kit from amazon in the past. This kit was great, every function we went to we brought a bottle and it was a big hit. Everybody loved it. If you are new to wine making this kit has everything you need to make and bottle your wine, but you must have all of the associated supplies already example the bottles, carboy, hydrometer, and corker.

I didn't want to make this per directions after reading reviews on how sweet this was. I made this to right at 5 gallons including the addition of a little Everclear to boost ABV. I used half the F-pack during the initial fermentation process so it wouldn't be über sweet at bottling time. Wonderful raspberry flavor. So very pleased with Cornucopia. I have the Blueberry Shiraz fermenting now. I'm going to try a few others before the year is out.

Napa Essentials The Electronic Sommelier Gift Set

Napa Essentials The Electronic Sommelier Gift SetBeing completely ignorant of wine and all things associated, this Sommelier gift set seemed a little over the top. Previously, I found the basic corkscrew awkward and accident prone. I was impressed with the power corkscrew and found it had the power that was needed. With a little practice, the unit was quick and easy to use; I would especially recommend this unit for anyone lacking hand strength or suffering with joint pain. The second unit allowes the user to vacuum seal an opened, partially used bottle of wine. At this point I have not had the occasion to use the vacuum but it does complete the set, making the price even more reasonable and a great gift.

Sahale Snacks Nut Blends, 4-to 5-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 6)

Sahale Snacks Pomegranate Pistachios with Almonds, Cherries, Black Pepper, 4-OunceThis snack blend is the best! I tried it on the recommendation of a friend, and have come to love it. It's perfect alone, but I enjoy putting the mix on salads. It definitely spices them up a bit, and the flavor is amazing. I have become a big fan of this product, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to add a little excitement to their everyday snacks.

I first tried this nut and spice delight at Costco........I had some of the samples that were offered that day and I choose to purchase the Sing Buri. My goodness this is good!! The flavors are just right. You know how a really good (Asian or French) sauce holds together and has a progression of flavors? I found that this happens with the nuts and chili and lemongrass.

Really, this is a gorgeous snack and healthy too!

Now that Amazon is offering this company's products, I ordered 2. And with the nice 10 bucks off, this is a very nice bargain!

Depending on your palate (some folks are happy with Planters nuts you know), I think you will be delighted with this choice!

Scrumptious!

About a month ago, I noticed a new product at my local QFC. It was on sale and I actually did a double take and returned to check out the display. It was filled with bags of fancy nut mixes by Sahale Snacks. I had been trying to wean myself off sweets by substituting nuts and other trail mixes for candy whenever I got the munchies. Sahale snack mixes looked like the fancy, upscale "town mouse" to my regular, boring "country mouse" trail mixes.

The one that caught my eye was Sing Buri with cashew, pineapple, peanut, lemongrass and Chinese chili. The ingredients definitely made my mouth water, but the picture on the front is what sold me: a heaping bowl of delicious sweet and savory looking cashews and dried pineapple. The bag was pretty expensive at $5.99 on sale for 5 ounces, but I was definitely hooked at that point and decided to give it a try. I didn't even wait to get home, but opened up the bag in the car and started snacking right away. It was amazing!

The more I looked into Sahale Snacks, the more I liked. On the website, the story is told of the two founders hiking up Mt. Rainier in Washington State, dreaming of something beyond the regular peanut/raisin/m&m combo that was their trail mix. What resulted was a snack mix that was indulgent and healthy.

These snack blends are a little pricy, but in my opinion, totally worth it. This would be a wonderful nut mix to offer to friends and guests when entertaining. This is a high brow snack that you or your guests will love.

I bought the variety pack and tried this flavor third (see my reviews for Socorro and Soledad). I buy natural snacks for my kids (freeze dried fruit etc with no added sugar), but I find them bland. So I ordered these and I love this flavor. In fact my 4 year old wanted to try and she liked it it wasn't too spicy for her. They use black pepper which is flavorful, but I wouldn't call it spicy. The nuts are big and crunchy and the fruit is small and chewy. There is about equal of both nuts and fruit. Valdosta has 7 grams of sugar in a 1/4 cup serving.

Ever since I have tried this productI eat some everyday!! It is the perfect blend of savory, tangy, sweet, and a touch spicy. I know that sounds like a weird combo, but its sooo good, addicting even. I initially bought this prouct at a local natural and whole foods store, but amazon .com has the lowest price I've seen anywhere and u cant beat free shipping!! It's so conveniant. I have ordered this product from amazon several times and I must mention one order contained multiple expired items that were definitely stale tasting, so I let customer service know and they immediately responded and very pleasantly resolved the matter to my satisfaction. I do suggest the multiple 12 2 oz multiple pack only because this blend is so yummy portion control is helpful!!!
