Alpine Spiced Cider, Sugar-Free Apple Flavor Drink Mix, .14 oz pouch, 10 count boxes (Pack of 12)

Alpine Spiced Cider, Sugar-Free Apple Flavor Drink Mix, .14 oz pouch, 10 count boxesGreat product Sugar Free just as good as regular.

However, Wal Mart sells for $1.88 per 10-count box, so that is about 20% cheaper than current Amazon price.

Alpine Sugar Free Spiced Cider mix is a very good tasting hot drink mix that is perfect for those looking to cut calories and carbs. I am a Type 2 diabetic and am always happy when something tastes just as good as the regular version (my wife likes Alpine Spiced Cider Original Apple Flavor Drink Mix, 10-Count Packets, 0.74-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)). These only have 15 calories and 4 carbs per packet!

I find that it mixes much better when you add hot water to it, instead of adding the packet into a cup of hot water.

Highly Recommended!

I just love this stuff. After drinking coffee all morning at work on a cold winter day, I'll switch to this sugar-free version of the spiced cider and find it so calming. You can find it at some retail stores, but the price on Amazon is comparable, plus I usually order enough to receive free shipping. The only thing I would say is to use a bigger mug than the 6-8 ounces they recommend. I just want a hint of the apple cider, not this strong overwhelming dose of it, but again, personal preference.

Round Shaped Smoked Gouda Cheese by Wisconsin Cheese Mart

Round Shaped Smoked Gouda Cheese by Wisconsin Cheese MartThe cheese is good quality, and the packaging so good that I was able to carry it in a moving van from Seattle to Durham, NC with no problems, I'll order again. If you're a smoked-gouda fan, remember that every brand that's "real" tastes slightly different, and this is a tad bit sharp, but I prefer sharp to too mild.

This Smoked Gouda cheese has a great flavor and the taste is fantastic. It was deliveried quickly. I bought it from Amazon.com.

Chateau Classico 6 Week Wine Kit, Italian Dolcetto, 40-Pound Box

Chateau Classico 6 Week Wine Kit, Italian Dolcetto, 40-Pound BoxI bought this kit along with a Cab Style back in October. I bottled them January 2, 2010. So far the wine is aging nicely. It has started smoothing out considerably. With a couple of more months of aging I expect it to be a very drinkable wine. Considering that it is $40-50 less than other kits I have made, it holds up well against those kits. I bought this one not only for the price point, but also because it is one of the only Dolcetto kits available.

I was a little disappointed that no oak was included in this and the Cab kit.

All-in-all, one will not be disappointed with the results, and a little tinkering may make it even better.

Update 12/20/2011: I have subsequently made another Dolcetto, this time adding oak chips for a week after stabilizing and fining. This has really added some body to the wine and has improved the finished product immensely.

I added 1 pound frozen sweet cherries to must and allowed to ferment fully. After 2nd racking, allowed to bulk age with french oak for 6 months.

After bottling, allow at least 2 months aging in bottle before drinking.

Improves as it ages. Actually quite pleasant to dink!

I don't follow kit instructions: I do a 1-step fermentation in 6-gal glass carboy and then do my first racking; after approximately 30 days; I rack again and add oak sticks; I pitch all the additives that come with the kit and make wine the natural way.

Chilean Merlot (World Vineyard)

Chilean MerlotI have been making wine from wine kits for nearly seven years and made some 50 kits from several sources. The World Vineyard kits from Winexpert are moderately priced kits that produce an extremely high-quality wine. This is as true of the Chilean Merlot as it is of the rest of the World Vineyard series. A dry medium-bodied red wine with like oak intensity, this Merlot produces a medley of red and black berries on the palate. It pairs well with duck breast and barbecued steaks. Also, it's a great sipping wine.

The World Vineyard wine kits come with easy to understand instructions, and generally take no more than six weeks from the initial mixing to bottling. Moreover, each step in the four-step process can be completed in less than an hour's time. Although the Chilean Merlot can be drunk as soon as two months after bottling, giving it more time (as much as a year) to age will permit the wine to continue to mature and bring out its more subtle flavors.

Cabernet Vinegar - 8.46 oz

Cabernet Vinegar - 8.46 ozThis Cabernet Vinegar from Spain is a good substitute for the Five Monks line that was discontinued. It has an excellent flavour and acidity for cooking. However, I recommend ordering at least two bottles because shipping will kill the savings of getting just one bottle. Almost doubles the cost.

Chateau Classico 6 Week Wine Kit, BC Style Cabernet Sauvignon, 40-Pound Box

Chateau Classico 6 Week Wine Kit, BC Style Cabernet Sauvignon, 40-Pound BoxI have been making wine for just under a year. This is my fourth kit. I tried the other cheaper cabernet merlot 4 week kit sold on Amazon and was not very happy. So I decided to spend a little more money and see if there was a big difference. The directions were a little off but I've done this enough times now including making wine from fruit that I had a pretty good idea of the order of things. I did the full six weeks. I did not filter. I racked once at about 5 weeks and 2 times before bottling. It made 29 bottles plus enough to fill 2/3 of one. I put the 2/3 full bottle in a bottle I had with a screw top and kept it on the stove for the past 2 weeks thinking I might use it to cook. I poured myself a glass last night and neither my husband nor I could believe it! It was SO SMOOTH! It had great body. It was perfectly CABERNET like I was looking for all along! If I had filtered it might have a little better clarity than it does, but it really doesn't seem to be affecting the taste. I am so impressed with this brand I setting it up for automatic delivery. I also am going to try their Pinot Noir next and hope for the same results. If you like dry and smooth, this is the wine for you to make!

I have been making Chateau Classico kits for about a year now. The initial batches were as directed using included ingredients. The results were drinkable, decent wine. But adding Medium plus toast American Oak chips, really pushed these kits over the top for me. The result of putting this kit (and a Dolcetto) on oak for a week was a fuller bodied, immensely drinkable wine.

The kit does not include any kind of oak like some others. I may try adding some oak powder when I pitch the yeast in the next batch to see how the wine changes.

So far, I cannot complain about this brand of kit. I subscribe and save $15 per kit, which brings this kit in at almost half the price of some of the better known manufacturer's kits. With a little experimentation, you can get excellent results with this kit.

Thus far I have made it the fermentation process and I have intentions of, upon completion of this kit, to put the kit into my 5 gallon barrel and let it bulk age for awhile. I must say I am pretty impressed with this one. I've added very little water, I'd say about 2.5 gallons over the fermentation/racking process. There has been little to no sediment and it tastes bold, like a Cabernet should. There is however no oak powder or chips included in this kit, thus explaining why I have the awaiting barrel. Of course the addition of the labels and the shrink caps and the corks make this kit very worth while. If you have purchased one of the cheaper kits on Amazon, good job its a good way to start. Now spend a little extra and get something much better. I'll wite up more at 6 months after bottling as this one will keep for a couple of years or longer in the bottle.

This is the third of these kits that I have made to fill the rack while the other homebrews finish. I am impressed. I made this one and cut it back a bit, about 5 gallons. It was easy, fun, and it turned out just fine. Color is deep and pretty, no filtering, and it is a great little something to pull off the rack for that spur of the moment grill out, or for that evening glass. The taste is a bit lighter than a $15 bottle of wine, but for the price it is truely drinkable. I would put it between a cab and merlot in finish. I let mine age a bit in the carboy before bottle, and it just got better. For the novice, and for a good cheapie to grab out when you need it, perfect! For the price, it's a pretty good deal.

I have made over 50 kit wines the past 6 years, mostly WineExpert kits bought locally. At 60% the cost of other kits I've purchased, this was a risk worth taking. Even better, these kits come with 30 corks, 30 labels, and 30 shrink-wrap bottle top covers, making the purchase a no brainer for me. This kit is still undergoing secondary fermentation in the carboy so I can't claim it tastes good or bad. That said, I recently completed another Chateau Classico dry red (Australian Cabernet Shiraz) and am thrilled with the results. It is certainly on par with any other similar wine I have made. I would definitely buy this kit again from what I currently have to go on. I plan to purchase other Chateau Classico kits in the future.

Brix Milk Chocolate For Wine Lovers

Brix Milk Chocolate For Wine LoversThis is the best chocolate I know of, but I still don't like the idea of pairing it with wine, I love a good wine too much to do this. Might work with a good ruby port though, but I haven't tried. While it is labelled 'milk chocolate', it is more like a medium bitter, not too sweet, quite dark and not buttery.

Diamanti Specialty Wine Kit, White Ice Wine Style, 29.76-Pound Box

Diamanti Specialty Wine Kit, White Ice Wine Style, 29.76-Pound BoxFirst off, this kit produces 30-375ml bottles of wine, not the advertised 30-750ml bottles of wine.. Also, this is not a 13.5lb box, it's a 13.5kg box which equals 30lb. It does not require the addition of any water. The main juice bag is 9L, and the F-Pack (sweetening pack) is 3L.. That being said, you will need a 3 gal carboy in order to make this wine, along with all the other necessary equipment. The finished product is very good! Like any ice wine, this is very sweet, and meant to be sipped along with a dessert. It fermented from 1.114 to 0.990 in just over 3 weeks, and after adding the sweetening pack, it was 1.060, so it's like drinking candy! I've tasted a few different ice wines from the finger lakes, and this is right on par with them. This is the first Ice Wine I have made, so I can't compare it to any of the other kits available from other manufacturers.. The color of this wine looks like a whiskey. With free shipping this is a bargin price for an Ice Wine.. Normally in the store, these go for roughly $15.00-$25.00/375ml bottle, and these cost $2.00/375ml bottle!!

I will be ordering this again!

Just finished this kit. This is my first kit and it was easy. Didnt use a hydrometer, just waited a few days longer in the primary and secondary. No one should complain about 3 gallons. All dessert wine kits are 3 gallons, never have I seen a 6 gallon kit. This kit is pure juice, no water is added. I tasted before bottling and it is already rival to the cheapest brands of ice wine I have tasted at 20$ for 375ml and 20$ for 187ml. It can only be better at 2 months. I did not fortify it or add any other liquid. I ended up with 26 bottles so I have about $520 worth of Ice Wine!!!! I think it is good enough to drink now..............but Ill try to wait two months. A cheap trick I used to keep the wine fermentation at 73F. I put the carboy in a bucket filled with water, then I put an aquarium heater set at 73F in the bucket. 10 gallon Aquarium heaters only cost $20.

I did not read the reviews that said they did not think it would make 30 750ml bottles as stated. Too bad. I was expecting a cheaper product, but I don't have a three gallon carboy. I either buy one of those, or I buy a second kit. A upscale Ice Riesling may not have cost as much as two of these. The directions inside also claim 23 L but the box clearly states 12 L. Then, even though the product was misrepresented, Amazon will not accept a return? Since when? I am disappointed.

This is a quality product from top to bottom. It was so easy to make and affordable. I wish I had subscribed to the discounted regular delivery program from the get go. I bulk aged it 6 months before bottling and had my first taste yesterday.... Wow... Yummy yummy!

Highly recommend to all.

My wife and I have taken trips to the Niagara region of Canada and tasted their ice wines. This one compares favorably to those wines. If you look at the low ratings/reviews for this product you will see that none of them actually talk about the wine itself. If you like ice wine or are looking for a good dessert wine then you should buy this product. You will not be disappointed!
