I ordered this cheese during the insane heat of August 2012 for my father's birthday. The first batch that shipped to him arrived warm and melted even when it didn't have to wait outside.

I contacted For the Gourmet and they sent a brand new one; comped my cost for the cheese and gave me a gift certificate. I was so embarrassed to have sent the first cheese to my parents, but they went (what I thought was) above and beyond to fix it.

We have been ordering Maytag blue cheese for several years now and have been consistently delighted with its quality. It is absolutely the best blue cheese we have ever tasted. I crumble some of it on the garden salad I eat every day for lunch and never tire of it. Occasionally, when we have run out, we have bought other blue cheese as a substitute. The quality for taste and tartness does not even begin to approximate Maytag blue cheese. It's in a class by itself.

Last fall, while traveling on I-80 through Iowa, we stopped at the Maytag factory in Newton. We discovered that Maytag also sells crumbled blue cheese in 5-pound boxes at their outlet store. You will not find this in their catalog, but if you call, they will send these boxes. We have ordered several this way. If you're going to crumble the cheese before using it, you may as well buy it this way, since it's quite a bit cheaper than ordering either the one-pound or the five-pound wheel.

I had been buying Danish Blue Cheese, but when Whole Foods in my area, quit carrying it, I decided to try Maytag Blue. I really enjoyed the Danish blue and was hoping that the Maytag had just as much bite, or kick, if you will. Well, it did! It was wonderful!

I make a salad with mixed greens, sliced strawberries, blue berries, toasted almonds and candied walnuts......and coupled with the crumbled Maytag blue, it is truly an experience for the mouth and taste buds! LOL!!!!

Wisconsin Chocolate Cheese Fudge

I was a bit hesitant in eating this cheese because I couldn't quite grasp why anyone would marry these flavors together but once I had some, it is the absolute BEST tasting cheese ever! It had pieces of walnuts and the taste was incredibly smooth. I am totally hooked on this cheese and would not hesitate in recommending this cheese to anyone. It's delicious! I had been looking in my local grocery stores for a sherry vinegar, and could not find one anywhere. This is a great product, however, I did just find a sherry vinegar at Whole Foods for less money and no shipping.

This is the best Sherry Vinegar, in my opinion, for the price, on the market. It's not overly sweet, has just the right piquancy, and it's really my "go-to" vinegar for just about everything. A must have for gazpacho! Marvelous on salads! Yum!
