The Maille mustard available in the USA is produced in Canada and not the same recipe as the original French type. I recently visited the Maille Boutique at place de la Madeleine in Paris to find out why their French products are now not avilable in the USA. I was told that several years ago the US Government imposed a 200 percent import tax on any mustard produced in France. I assume some lobby of US mustard producers induced Congress to impose this duty.So the Maille name was formed as a Canadian company, not associated with Maille of France, so that the mustard can be imported into the USA from Canada without this import duty since it was now being produced in Canada without the original Maille famous recipes. The taste of the Canadian produced Maille is not as good as the Maille mustards from France. So thank you to Congress for your interference in commerce from the great mustards from France. I did bring some various Maille mustards back with me from France but packed up in my checked luggage as customs will not allow you to bring them in carry on luggage.

I love this mustard. It makes a fantastic vinagarette wisked with some balsamic vinegar and olive oil, or you can mix it it with an equal part of honey for a delicious glaze for grilled chicken or fish. The French version is the "real thing". I just bought Maille Dijon from Fairway in Woodland PK NJ--it a'int the same thing. I also tried a friend's Maille Dijon and it is inferior. It's amazing how many foods are complimented by this rich, tangy, complex mustard. I'd say the Maille you get in France stings a little bit more, but the product made in Canada is excellent quality. I can't understand the fascination people have with invalidating it because it's made in Canada. If you don't like it from Canada, don't eat it, and don't forget it's never too late to grow up.
Roland Giant Snails (12 Count), 7.75-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)
These snails are awesome. They are the best tasting escargot I have ever had, at any restaurant, anywhere. I was worried that the giant snails might be too big, and they are larger than any I had ever seen. But they are so tender that you can just bite right through them. These are delicious and I am waiting for amazon to get more in stock so I can order more. I prepared some on a family vacation and parents, cousins, uncles, aunts were all raving over them...even people who didn't know they liked escargot! And, by the way, this 12-pack is the best deal on earth. Order the $5 HIC escargot plate with them, find a butter recipe online, buy some crostinis at the grocery store and enjoy. The little plate fits in my toaster oven and I have wonderful escargot in 5 minutes.
I'm an escargot lover and also a Yankee. The combination of those 2 things has made it hard for me to order escargot in a restaurant. I have on occasion, but $10. for 6 tiny, albeit tasty morsels has caused minor pangs in my Yankee heart. Add to that the trend in the US for more casual dining and even finding escargot on the menu now is less likely than it was 10 years ago. So, not a big deal. Life goes on...no snails for Jo Ana.
Until now. I was doing some grocery shopping on Amazon the other day and discovered the Subscribe and Save program. While checking it out I found the Roland Giant Snails and ordered a box of them, hoping for the best but not expecting the largest snails I've ever seen in my life times 2 !! I'm not a big eater, but 6 of these with a small vegetable portion is dinner for me. I bake them with organic extra virgin coconut oil heavily laced with garlic and WOW ! My first bite reminded me how much I love escargot and the rest of the bites made me very very happy that I'm an Amazon customer who happened upon the Save & Subscribe program!
If you love escargot, you will be very pleasantly surprised with the size, taste and overall yumminess of this product !

If you truly enjoy eating then you will truly enjoy escargot; even though you may not know it if you have never tasted. If you love and enjoy escargot, then I promise you that you will absolutely love this product. These puppies are BIG! Now I know that big does not always mean better, but I have to say I have never tasted better and I have eaten these things in many restaurants, in many homes and locations around the world. I come from several generations of snail lovers and we are all pretty picky!These snails are tender, not mushy as you often find and if prepared correctly can send you into a state of gastronomic nirvana. A bit of EVOO, garlic and a touch of salt, a dash of wine and a hot oven and you have pure heaven at the table.
I cannot believe the price here on Amazon. I buy this same product at a local store and can assure you that I pay much, much more.
As one reviewer has pointed out, it is very difficult to find these in many restaurants these days. When I was a little girl, traveling with my parents all over the U.S. it was not much of a problem. Times have changed though and if you want a `snail fix,' you are quite often forced to do it yourself. Fortunately that is not difficult if you have a quality product to begin with. It this case, you do.
Whether you buy here on Amazon or buy locally, don't let these slip by you.

Based on reviews, we ordered a case. These are awesome, just as indicated by others. Delicious when heated with garlic/shallot butter; very tender and GIANT. Very minor issues: (1) There were 16 in the can we opened. Since I assume sold/packed by weight and not number, would have been even larger if only 12. (2) strong sulfur smell when opening the can, but easily rinsed off and not apparent in heated snails. (3) I had assumed, apparently incorrectly, country of origin was France. Packaging (but not web site) indicates from Indonesia; I hope better than food coming from China! We will order again.

Let me start by saying I HATE MUSTARD! I'm 42 and i've never liked it, won't even eat it in potato salads. My husband got a little jar of this in a salami/beef stick gift basket. It sat on the shelf for months and one day I was hungry for a bologna sandwich. For some odd reason I decided to put this on my sandwich and it was so good. When I finished off that jar (all by myself) I searched the grocery stores for it and found it nowhere. Yes, I had to buy 4 bottles of it to get it on Amazon, but that's ok, they won't go to waste!

I was never a mustard person til I tried this. It has so much flavor. I use it on everything, including in my salad dressings. It is not sweet at all and does not have those bad ingredients like some reviewers said. Not sure what they were reviewing. I love it and buy it by the 6 pack. I've bought this mustard at the grocery store a time or two, but the six pack I got here on Amazon with free SuperSaver shipping (on orders over $25) made it a much better deal. We use lots of mustard since I pack lunches for 5-6 people every day. I like to get different mustards and spreads to keep things interesting, and we're all fans of stone ground mustard.Inglehoffer stone ground mustard has a very nice flavor and texture. My kids, who don't like "spicy" Dijon mustard like this one too. I like the squeeze bottle for ease of use, and because it's chunky you can stand the bottle on its head and it all oozes to the bottom/top so none is wasted.
I like that the ingredients are pretty natural water, mustard seed, vinegars, sugar, salt, white wine, garlic and spices, xanthan gum, turmeric, citric acid, artificial and natural flavors and annato. It certainly doesn't taste artificial, and I like that there aren't any preservatives in it other than the salt and vinegars.
I'll definitely buy this mustard again from Amazon when this is gone.

This is amazing stuff! Flavor is nice and crisp, taste is better than any others I've found, and the price is reasonable (not budget but not gourmet). Also love the texture of the mustard seeds. It's great fun to pop them between your teeth (releases a nice burst of sugar & spice), and their presence makes it feel not as processed as other mustards. Keeps well for a long time despite no preservatives, too. Taste ingredients, not chemicals!

Aside from being a nostalgicly great treat, they have no high-fructose corn syrup and are small enough for little hands. We use these at our house for treats after helping clean up the playroom, and for rewards when working with our 1 and 3 year old in the swimming pool for swimming lessons. The red flavor is the same it has been for years, and my personal favorite. I received the bottles and they weren't the same as the picture I ordered I sent them back and it cost me $25.00 to sent them back by UPS. I was told by a e-mail that I would received full pay back' I probably won't be paid back for mailing the bottles. It cost me more to mail them back then the bottles cost.
