Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, Italian Orvieto Style, 17.5-Pound Box

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, Italian Orvieto Style, 17.5-Pound BoxThis wine turned out great. Nice color and clean finish. It makes a great utility white table wine that is semi-dry that goes well with lighter meats. I will buy more, however, as many reviewers have stated, only make these and Vino Italiano kits to 5 gallons and NOT 6. Making it to 6 gallons or 23 litres will yield a weak and thin wine. The price per bottle is still a very good deal.

This kit appears to be made by the same folks who make the Vino Italiano kits. The paperwork and ingredient packaging were identical. I made it into a 6.5 gallon batch (my fermenter is 7 gallons and I didn't want air space) and my IG was 1.085, very good. Fermentation lasted 24 days and FG was .985. I added some toasted oak chips to my primary fermenter as well. Wine was dry, crisp and quite easy to clear. It even impressed some wannabe wine snobs.

Overall, highly recommended. These kits are no brainers, and with the price and free shipping the wine is about $1.75 per bottle and is comparable to an $8-$12 wine, IMO. This is my second kit from this supplier and I am nothing but happy. Nice to have a good bottle of wine with dinner and not have to cringe at spending $10 each night. Besides, it's easy and fun. Heck, they even throw in free corks. I was already homebrewing for 15 years and decided to try my hand at wine. I had built my own "kit" by buying concentrated juice, acid, yeast, clarifiers, etc. I ended up spending about 25% more than this kit without a noticeable difference in quality. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Love this wine! Actually ordered a 2nd kit. However, just like so many others have recommended, make 5 gallons, not 6. Also, I rack it twice and add a wine smoother ([ ... ]) to it right before bottling. Yummy!

Cheerwine Cherry Soda - 12 oz Bottle: Single Bottle

Cheerwine Cherry Soda - 12 oz Bottle: Single BottleI love Cheerwine. I don't drink sodas very often, but I make an exception to enjoy Cheerwine whenever I find it. It's got a great cherry taste and very refreshing. Note this, however: the formula they use in the plastic bottles contains high fructose corn syrup, whereas the formula for the glass bottles uses real sugar. I prefer the glass bottles (b/c of the real sugar and b/c glass bottles preserve carbonation longer than plastic bottles). That's it!

Cheerwine is a regional soda from North Carolina, that has expanded into 12 other southeast states in the last 8 years. Started in 1917, Cheerwine was first formulated in the basement of L. D. Peeler's wholesale grocery store. Created during prohibition when it was common to name sodas after liquors. The owner added a new cherry flavor syrup to his previous soda and cheerwine was born. Believe it or his great grandsons still run the company.

The bergundy red soft drink has a nice mellow cherry flavor, and the color is really a pretty burgundy color, almost like wine. It is more subtle and seems less sweet on the palate than the grocery store house brands of cherry soda. No aftertaste or bite. It is easy to see why the locals in North Carolina rave about this and the other drink from this company, "Cool Moon". Also made in diet soda.

Typically not available in stores, this bottled version of a favorite Down South has pure cane sugar. It's a little sweeter and a lot smoother than the canned stuff. Packed with plenty of bubble wrap, our two bottles arrived safe and sound Up North. Thanks for making our Christmas happy!

Forum Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Vinegar - Pack of 2

Forum Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Vinegar - Pack of 2This is a great condiment; not truly vinegar, but agrodolce, as it is blended with unfermented grape must. That adds a wonderful, balancing sweetness to it that enhances most anything you put it on or in. I've been using this for several years now, and it's to the point that I use it in some way almost every night. Find it cheaper elsewhere, though.

The first bottle showed up broken, and they rectified this situation nicely (of course I didn't need 2 phone calls...just what we ordered). But it's the thought that counts. They went overboard to make sure we were happy.

And the vinegar is a gem. Try it on a steak on the grill!

La Favorita Artichoke and Garlic Cream Spread, 4.59 Oz. Jar

La Favorita Artichoke and Garlic Cream Spread, 4.59 Oz. JarMy family loves this spread! Locally, it is only sold in gourmet food stores which is not convenient for me. I have tried other brands and nothing can compare. I will keep ordering cases until my family is tired of it...which will be NEVER!

Gingerbread Spice Mustard Fallot French Dijon (moutarde au pain d'Epices) 7oz jar

Gingerbread Spice Mustard Fallot French Dijon 7oz jar, OneWhile they have a few mustards to choose from I picked this one solely as a dare, to the Fallot people, to disappoint me. I've had their Dijon and their Dijon with Peppercorn so I knew that they knew what they were doing. When I saw the Gingerbread variant I figured it was the LEAST appealing. For me that is always a sign of a way to expand my horizons so I went for it. It is excellent. The more detailed ingredients include wheat and spices. It's not the gingerbread taste I was expecting, which is a good thing. It is dijon with a very unique zip to it. I put it on ham with a whole grain wheat bread. I prefer high tech ingredients like Boar's Head rosemary & sundried tomato ham but it's too delicate for this particular mustard so just use a basic high quality meat. Serve it to yourself though, unless you know someone who is a total "foodie." I paired it(LOL) with a French beverage in the form of a Citadelle gin martini. Look to the French for food and art and you won't be disappointed,

Great maker of Dijon mustards. Make a great sauce for pork Try the moutarde Cassis with roast beef. Try the basil-flecked mustard with vinagrettes.

Briannas Vinaigrette Dressing Blush Wine, Size: 12 Oz (Pack of 6)

Briannas Vinaigrette Dressing Blush Wine, Size: 12 OzI don't normally like salad dressings that are a little sweet, but I am hooked on this one. It is not overly sweet and balanced with a nice tang that makes it very versatile. I use it as a dressing for my 4 bean salad and I get rave reviews on it! It also pairs well with a salad topped with blackened chicken and a little bit of blue cheese, sliced almonds and a few mandarin orange segments. MMMMMMMMM! One other thing I really like is that there is no soybean oil. I hate the weird flavor that soybean oil gives dressings. Canola is more mild and lets the nice flavors of this dressing shine. A really nice change from your standard vinagrette!

Marukan Rice Vinegar 24 Oz.

Marukan Rice Vinegar 24 Oz.Whether you're experimenting with Asian cuisine or simply want to branch out from plain white vinegar, this rice vinegar is fantastic.

Marukan brand is always high-quality, and this is no exception. This rice vinegar is full-bodied and has fantastic flavor. It's perfect to use in salad dressings because it is low in calories and fat-free. With some decent quality olive oil, it makes a delicious vinaigrette.

My only hesitation about this product is that it is often available for a more competitive price at my local grocery store. It may be worth checking out your local store or an Asian market to get a better price.

Overall, this rice vinegar is a fantastic product that goes well with nearly everything. I highly recommend it.

Emeril's Dijon Mustard, 12-Ounce Unit (Pack of 6)

Emeril's Dijon Mustard, 12-Ounce UnitThis is the best Dijon mustard I've found. Most Dijons have a horseradish background taste that overwhelms the flavor of mustard; this Dijon is creamy and more subtle in flavor without the annoying horseradish bite. We use it for sandwiches, and it makes the BEST homemade vinaigrette. It's also good as a marinade for pork. I highly recommend this product!

I thought that having to order six was a lot, but we're already going through it fast! Delicious mustard, just enough bite.

I knew my son liked to use Emeril spice mixes for grilling so I bought a bottle since I like dijon. The texture and taste is not like Grey Poupon. I consider this more rustic. I really like it the best of all brands I've tried.

This mustard has a weird taste and texture. Certainly there are better dijons out there. Sorry, Emeril the only "Bam!" this mustard gives is the sound of the bottle being dropped into the trash can.
