Partners All Natural Crackers, Olive Oil and Herb, 4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Partners All Natural Crackers, Olive Oil and Herb, 4-Ounce BoxesI first found these crackers in a store in Maine and picked them up to go with a variety of cheeses that I was buying for an informal cocktail get-together. When I got home to Virginia I could not find them at any of my local stores so began searching for them online. I found them here and bought some immediately. They are just as good as I remembered. I've used them with everything from Brie to cheddar, with fruit, on their own and with dips. They are thin, crisp and spiced just right. They hold up well with anything I've tried so far lending a great herby background taste. Try to find them in your local stores (I have found them in a few places recently) because buying online is very expensive.

A great treat, alone, with spreads, cheese, olives, etc. Get a supply for every day use or standby for fancy times!

I had these crackers in a snack box on a recent Delta flight and enjoyed them so much I searched the internet to see where I could purchase them locally. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a store in my area that sold them. The taste is so good you can eat them just as a snack or serve with dips or spreads. I ordered the Roasted Garlic with Rosemay and also the onion flavored version (which I haven't tried, yet). Although some reviewers said their Wisecrackers showed up in bits and pieces, mine were in perfect shape.

I first tasted these crackers on a Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines flight from Burbank to Portland and I just had to find them so that we could have them at home. They don't disappoint! They are terrific with cheese but also perfect as a snack on their own.

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, Italian Pinot Grigio, 17.5-Pound Box

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, Italian Pinot Grigio, 17.5-Pound BoxI've made a number of wine kits that produced some very good or excellent

wine. I usually add my own "touches."

This wine was not very good. It did not taste like a Pinot Grigio.

I will probably try another company or start with just the juice.

First one came out better than expected, reordered again. This is an easy way to make Good Wine at a reasonable price

We have been purchasing wine kits locally for several years and recently began purchasing from Amazon as our local source closed shop until we processed this kit we have never had a bad batch color was good, but there was a distinct odor and sharp taste to the finished product the batch was scrapped.

I finished this wine kit about 4 weeks ago and like all other paklab products this creates a solid house wine to have around. While I prefer their "Vino Italiano Moscato" kit-wine, this kit creates a very smooth, drinkable end result.

There is a step during the creation process of these kits that requires you to "top-up" your carboy. It's best to use the same kind of wine from a previous batch, however as this was the first time I made this wine the alternative was clean spring water. I felt that I might've watered down this wine too much during this phase. I have, however, used spring water at this point in several kits in the past and not had a watery taste at the beginning of one's sip.

The goal, then, is to make another Pinot Grigio kit and use wine from the previous batch to avoid adding unnecessary water. Of course by the time the second batch is made, rarely do I have excess wine to add to a kit. This is due to the fact that these Paklab kits are SO drinkable, their end product seems to disappear so quickly. The only reason I gave this wine a 3 instead of a 4 is because I prefer the Moscato from their Vino Italiano lines of kits, but that could be simply personal preference.

I will be bottling this wine next week. So far, so good, but I haven't gone wrong using these kits yet. However, just like so many others have recommended, make 5 gallons, not 6. Also, I rack it twice and add a wine smoother (I get it from American Brewmaster: [ ... ]) to it right before bottling. Yummy!

Epoisses de Burgundy Cheese - Creamy, 8.5oz

Epoisses de Burgundy Cheese - Creamy, 8.5ozEpoisses is not well known. For those of you who know what washed rind cheese is, this is one of the greats. For those of you who do not, this is a class of cheese that is strong. So do not serve it as the only choice for the uninitiated. Better to serve at least the classic three choices, one sheep, one goat and this for the cow. You know, half a Noah.

If you are trying it for yourself for the first time, here are a couple of points:

take most of the top crust off, gently with a sharp paring knife and fork. Not deep. The crust is soft.

let the cheese come to room temperature (this is a creamy almost soupy cheese and looses most of its taste if cold and firm)

serve with a small spoon, no bigger than an espresso spoon. (caviar spoons work. in a pinch, the handle of an ice cream bar works. The point is not to have big glops extracted)

good on bread. Bath Oliver crackers are good. Water crackers or cream crackers.

Wine is essential. The first time I had this cheese, I had a shmear on a piece of bread. Wow, the cheese was extraordinary. Then I had a mouth wash of white wine. Then the cheese opened into the transformational moment of perfection. True Sartori. So always serve with cool white wine, The fat and alcohol mate to explode all the hidden flavors.

My choice is a Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru. But since I cannot pay for my choice, I am reduced to mere extacy with a good chalky, flinty Frascati. For American wines, the new style of lean, un-oaked chardonnay works. You might better reach for a Fume Blanc otherwise.

If you are interested but not quite comfortable, then go for the plain Epoisses, not the creamy. It is a gateway cheese, as we pushers say.

Finally, this is a fair price to pay.

Lt. Blender's Wine Freezer, Sangria, 9.7-Ounce Pouchesfirst tried this at hillside winery in gatlinburg tn. mixed with the black and blue wine it is amazing! I'm not a huge wine drinker, i prefer fruity ones mostly like apple raspberry or apple strawberry from the apple barn, but this was so good.

What a wonderful idea these pouches contain the dry ingredients for a wonderful sangria, just add you favorite wine and water, and toss it in the freezer. In a short period of time, the mixture freezes into a cold and slushy and thoroughly delicious drink. Each pouch makes a half-gallon, about 16 servings (or better yet, make it 12 or less servings!).

This is a really great idea. The pouches are dead easy to take along dry, and still quite convenient when filled and ready to drink. Try it, you'll like it!

I was excited to get these. I was going to a frozen drink party and wanted something different that no one else would have. These seemed ideal. Unfortuantely, they were a HUGE bust! They were WAY too sweetbordered upon undrinkable. And even though there was wine in them, they froze completely solid. So, in order to drink them, they had to sit out for an hour or more to thaw. Then they thawed too much and were just a soupy mess. I am stuck with two more packages as I bought the three pack. I had high hopes and was extremely let down. They ended up being a huge waste of money. :(

I tried the Sangria Wine Freezer because I really liked the margarita and the mojito mixes. And the verdict is.....too bad I bought it in a pack of 3, as I don't know what to do with what's left over. It's too sweet, and doesn't have any exciting flavour. Also, unlike the mixes made with hard liquor, the wine freezes too hard, so it's tough to get it out of the bag once frozen. I had to leave it out of the freezer for an hour or more so I could pour/squeeze a drink!

Brewer's Best Brewing Herbs and Spices - Paradise Seeds

Brewer's Best Brewing Herbs and Spices - Paradise SeedsI don't mind doing the review, but I just want to rate it without writing a book why, The rating should be enough, any further information should be totally voluntary.

This pouch only contains 2 grams of seeds, less than a teaspoon. It is my fault for not reading the product info more carefully (though the shipping weight made it look like more and the only place I could find the actual product weight was by enlarging the blurry product picture), but I wanted to be sure other people didn't make the same mistake. Order a different package of grains of paradise for a better value. As for the seeds themsellves, they arrived when promised and seemed to taste fine.

It was very small and some of the products were broken during shipping. Not worth the money. The basket it was in was nice and the presentation was nice, however, it was small and all of the items were snack size.

The recipient was very happy, and called twice to say he was enjoying the food. For those who don't like sweets or fruit, this is a very good gift basket.

Pinot Noir (Vintner's Reserve)

Pinot NoirOk, I have fallen into the very addictive hobby of wine-making. Sure, why not? I mean I drink enough wine, why not make my own? One thing I have to say, the hardest part about making wine is having patience. Everything else is easy. Really easy.

This Pinot Noir was one of the first kits I tried. I have done a few more since then, all are still in the aging process right now. But that does not mean I have not tested them. I have, and they are good. And they continue to get better with age.

Most of these kits need at least 6 months of aging to really bring out the flavor and character. One year is even better. So basically you need to start a kit and then a few weeks later start another, etc. Do this so you have a few different kits bottled up and aging. Then before you know it 6 months has passed and you can start drinking the wine you made. If you like a really young wine, you can start drinking this after about a month in the bottle. But have patience, it gets even better. My Pinot is about 4 months old. I crack a bottle every month, and every month it tastes better.

One thing I have noticed is you really need to address the CO2 levels before you bottle this wine. Actually any kit wine. It needs to be vigorously stirred for about 2 minutes to release the CO2. Test it, then stir again if needed. I found I needed to stir it a number of times before it was perfect. Then I read an article about stirring it at the right temperature. 75 degrees is where you want to be. My homemade fermentation chamber is kept at 72 degrees. So I had to up the temp to 75 a day before I want to degas and found it degases much better. I have since stopped stirring to degas and now I use my brake bleeder to pull a vacuum on the carboy. That works much better! Not necessary, but if you have one, use it.

These kits are great because you can and should experiment with them. Want more body? Top it off to 5 or 5.5 gallons instead of 6. Like an oakey flavor? Add white oak blocks to the carboy while aging. Want even more kick? Add some sugar in the proper amounts to ferment to a higher alcohol level. This kit fermented to 14% for me, so that worked out just right in my opinion.

While I currently have a few kits going, I definitely see more in my future. I like the taste and it is truly cost effective. This kit makes 30 bottles of wine, so including the cost of the bottle that means you are spending about $3.50 a bottle. Then since you will reuse that bottle, the next batch will only cost you about $2.25 a bottle. Not too shabby.

We made this Winexpert Vinters Reserve Pinot Noir for our first atttempt at making wine because it was reasonably priced and we didn't want to start off with a $100+ kit in case we messed something up. We bottled it after 4-5 weeks. We thought we'd give the wine at least 6 months to age. But one month later, we didn't have any other wine in the house (on a Sunday) and we needed something to drink with those steaks on the grill. We expected the wine to be so-so after only a month of aging. We were pleasantly surprised if not shocked. It was actually very, very good and potent. I was "feeling it" after one glass. I can hardly wait to see what it tastes like with a little more age on it. We will make this again. At a cost of $3.50 a bottle you can't beat it.
