Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, California Style Red, 17.5-Pound Box

Reserve Du Chateau 4 Week Wine Kit, California Style Red, 17.5-Pound BoxI bought a single of this kit. After bottling this past weekend, this kit will be one I reorder. Good balance, pleasant taste, and that was drinking a bottle I hadn't even bother corking.

Kit even comes with corks and labels, if they could just figure out how to put bottles in, it would be perfect.

Chilean Malbec Shiraz with Crushed Grape Skins (Selection International)

Chilean Malbec Shiraz with Crushed Grape SkinsWhat is better than a Shiraz or a Malbec wine? What about a wine that combines the two grapes into something that contains the best features of both wines? This is what the Selection "Chilean Malbec Shiraz" wine kit from Winexpert has done. The result is a wine that contains the rich flavors of the Shiraz grape with the plum, blackcurrant, and violet aromas of the Malbec grape. This medium-full bodied dry red wine pairs well with roasted meats and rich stews. It also goes well with bittersweet chocolate.

The Selection Chilean Malbec Shiraz is one of several wine kits that contain grape skins, a relatively new feature from Winexpert. These grape skins are placed in a porous cloth during the primary fermentation stage and are then discarded prior to the secondary fermentation. Very little additional work is involved as a result, and so, like the other Winexpert kits, this one is easy to make. My experience with these kits has taught me that the total amount of time that will be spent over the six to eight week period from mixing to bottling won't be more than four hours. Of course, aging is a different story. I would recommend a minimum of six months after bottling before opening the first bottle. And save some for later. This wine will continue to mature for well over a year.

The wine kit makes approximately 30 750ML bottles of wine. It comes with easy-to-affix labels to help you identify your wine and give the bottle a professional touch.

Sherry Wine Vinegar (Vinagre de Jerez) - 1 bottle, 25.4 fl oz

Sherry Wine Vinegar - 1 bottle, 25.4 fl ozThis is a hard to find vinegar that is superior to balsamic especially when rich flavor is needed. While balsamic adds sweetness and a strong vinegar flavor, sherry vinegar is a mild vinegar that adds huge flavor with a depth and richness that is unique. It can be used very much like white wine, but it adds a smooth nutty flavor similar to pecans. This can be used whenever cooking sherry is called for. I like to use it instead of beer to cook turkey brats, and when cooking cut up chicken: cover the bottom of a fry or saute pan, let the liquid reduce while browning each side; it turns out great. I haven't tried it with other meats, such as beef or pork, but I would expect the rich, mellow flavor to compliment those meats as well. The bottles are large, the size of wine bottles, and this will force you to think up ways to use it--lucky you.

I purchased this vinegar specifically for my gazpacho salad, which has been vastly improved! It has a bright, fresh flavour and it makes a great vinaigrette, too. I will always have this in my pantry!

The flavor is good, though not as fruity as other Jerez vinegars. The main attraction is having a big bottle so I don't need to ration it. Excellent on vegetables, chicken, and in salad dressings.

Yeast Nutrient - 1 lb.

Yeast Nutrient - 1 lb.Great nutrient. When i pitched the yeast it had no trouble growing. I dont have anything else to compare the nutrient to but i would get it again.

(UPDATE)This is my Second year and I just finished off this 1lbs bag of Yeast nutrient. I'm guessing it works amazingly because by the time I add the rest of my sugar after one weak of primary, I have to add a overflow valve within 2 hours because of all yeast eating the sugar and dying. Sooo much yeast is on the bottom already and its still bubbling 2 weeks in.

This product does what it says it will do. It definitely kicks up the ferment and I believe ultimately results in a greater yield.

I have been brewing various types of juice concentrates for months and they all required 2 weeks to get to a decent alcohol level. Step in Mr Yeast Nutrient. My fermentation starts literally within hours instead of days, and lasts only half as long for my wine to be ready.

French Champagne Vinegar

French Champagne VinegarWe have a couple of recipes that use this vinegar. It's generally $10 or so for a small bottle...this is a steal! It is the exact same stuff that you get in the grocery store isle for a fraction of the price.
