My problem is more the Post Office delivery issue. We get our mail late in the day and the box rides in the heat for at least six hours before being delivered. Not only was the ice melted, the cheese had started to melt too. It's not a food safety issue as cheese can stay unrefrigerated for five days. Will order again as this makes great tasting veggie casseroles.

The kit comes with excellent and specific instructions. The kit produces approximately 30 750ML bottles of high-quality wine. The cost per bottle is a little more than $2. The quality of the wine is worthy of a bottle that costs ten times as much retail.

More specifically, regarding the Cabernet Sauvignon, I made a batch about four years ago. The taste turned out true with rich body and excellent clarity. If you choose to make the Cab, try not drinking it for several months after bottling, since the wine will mature with age. After a couple years, the taste is even better.

I also use it on crackers and fused in with my homemade biscuits. Everyone that has tried food that I make with this cheese has asked me what brand of cheese i was using because it is so good. I get it from my grocery store, so i don't have anything to say about the online dealer. But at my grocery store this cheese is always very fresh. It holds up very good in my fridge for sometimes weeks at a time. I would recommend this blue cheese to everyone who likes or doesn't like blue cheese because it is so good.

I've traveled in Germany many times, and have enjoyed their Gluhwein many times.

My father-in-law recommended this brand, that he'd had in Scandanavia, and I must say it's even better that the German version!

I served it (mixed with German sweet red wine) to a NATO officer living here, and he admitted he'd only once tasted a version as good.

I suppose if you had the recipe, you could make the stuff at home for less money but good luck finding a recipe this good!

Grana Padano Stravecchio Oro del Tempo - Pound Cut by igourmetFor those who have not had this excellent cheese, it may be helpful to compare Stravecchio Oro del Tempo, Grana Padano, which is relatively obscure outside of Italy, with cheeses that English-speakers may have had the good fortune to try. It is a hard aged cheese, in my opinion more like Regiano Parmesan than anything made in North America. It has sort of crystalline fracture lines in it, and is quite tangy, which makes it offset fruit nicely, but as it is hard as well as tangy, it does beautifully in place of more ordinary grating cheeses such as Romano or Parmesan. Some very old cheddars are a little bit like that, but North American cheddars are never this hard and grainy. It has bursting hard crystals of lactic acid and milk sugars.

I still have warm memories of Grana, pears, and Grappa, my favorite after-dinner treat when I lived in Italy. Grana is like a crumbly cheddar, but milder and more distinctive. If you are wild about pears, Grana is the perfect accompaniment, but it's luscious with apples and grapes, too.

Grana is not easy to find here, so I was thrilled to find it at Amazon partner iGourmet!
